Carmen Sandiego TV crew be like “screw ship wars” and prefer to make El Topo x La Chevre canon
Things confirmed and discussed during the final Summer of Sandiego stream!
Any spin-off of the main series has yet to be approved and is still being conceptualized, but the show runners passionately expressed that they would still be interested in making one sometime in the future. Some interest was teased at ideas like expanding upon the Dark! Carmen that we saw during the series’ last two episodes and also at solidifying Carmen’s romantic relationships as being possible plot points.
The Troll is Korean and enjoys dressing like a KPOP star despite the fact that his job is to stay behind a computer all day. He comes from a very wealthy family and has become a hacker for VILE purely out of boredom.
At the end of the final episode, Zack and Ivy are not saddened to find Carmen’s goodbye letter. Rather, they are just emotional at the fact that Carmen has finally left to meet her mother and are happy for her. This is further solidified after the time-skip, in which they are happy to see her again and not at all angry.
When Carmen goes to meet her mother, a small child that looks exactly like child Carmen can be seen playing in the orphanage’s playground. This is merely an easter egg, not reused assets due to time constraints or Carmen’s younger sister like some fans had apparently theorized. (Can you imagine Carmen having a little sister though🥺)
Besides Shadowsan and Carmen, the most likely operatives to defect from VILE would have been La Chevre and El Topo. If Dark! Carmen had remained at VILE as a member of faculty for an extended amount of time, it was stated that Tigress would have eventually defected as she wouldn’t have been able to stand working for her.
Some thought was originally given to having Carmen’s mother be the equivalent of the original Carmen Sandiego from the original 1990’s tv series. This obviously would have made her much more diabolical, but the idea was never realized in the show and her past as a VILE operative was left to fan imagination.
CS CHARACTERS AS THINGS WE SAID IN THE CS 2.2 SERVER
[MAJOR SPOILERS FOR CS SEASON 4 AHEAD]
list of thingz from s4 that I'll never stop thinking abt bc s4 has me dead/pos and it hurts it was the last one (kind of-)
✨ I'll start with an ending bc even tho it hurts (to me especially Ivy's reaction to letter,,,,also I love found family trope and it was great in cs so seeing them go separate ways but getting life they want was bittersweet) I think it was good closure for the series,,,,, up to intepretation ending
✨ GRAHAM GRAHAM GRAHAM GR-
✨ ships (that are also left up to interpretation by the end) we got in this season???? yes pls
✨Carmen and Player's friendship is honestly everything hbgnv like,,,that scene after Graham turns to vile's side and Player tells he's not going anywhere (and again at the end when Carmen tells him he means a world to her) ,,,, WAAAH
✨Julia/ Chase relationship getting fixed properly + him FINALLY listening to her historical facts + generally what she has to say (and Chase's change was chef's kiss)
✨Speaking of Chase his action in Egypt + him handling Tigress was everything jfjcjcbv
✨JEANTONIO REAL YOU CAN'T TELL ME OTHER WISE
✨ CHIEF!!!! I got to like her more this season honestly,,,, at first I was neutral abt her now I just think she's neat
✨watching vile being caught one by one ESPECIALLY Cleo watching Bellum getting arrested and then her getting caught by Julia (fuck yeah that was satisfying after Egypt)
✨fucking illegal turles cracked me up jfjcjcbvi
✨ whole vile!Carmen thing was pretty interesting!!! darker than I thought it would especially when she tried to kill Zack but it was nicely played off
✨ THAT SCENE WHERE GRAHAM HAS TO CHOOSE BETWEEN TIGRESS OR ACME DEVICE TO SAVE CARMEN
✨Zack looking after Shadow San when he broke his leg
✨ seeing characters that helped Carmen in the past hits hard-
✨forgot to add this last night but like,,,, cARMEN STILL THINKS SHE KILLED GRAHAM??? I HOPE NOT BC HER REALIZING WHAT SHE DID WHEN BRAINWASHED HUUURTS I HOPE CHIEF GOT TO HER AND TOLD HER GRAHAM'S FINE
✨and from the same episode and generally this season,,,, J-Julesthief,,,,
....... excuse me all this Carmen talk I just,,, god this show-
This season was *chefs kiss*
but also like...the chefs kiss right
ok but the fact that the first thing la chevre asks about is his boyfriend El topo. ugh my heart. they're in love your honor
Here are some funky speculations about Carmen's former classmates possibly joining Team Red
I'm all about the possibility of Carmen getting half of V.I.L.E. onto her side so I'll put down some thoughts on how it might go.
El Topo and La Chevre - they're a package deal, obviously. I feel like there's a pretty good chance that they'll switch sides at some point, considering how they both acted when they first encountered Carmen as a rogue. El Topo seems especially chill.
I don't think they're both going to switch sides at once. Maybe one of them will get into some serious trouble and the other will have to work with Carmen and Co. to get him out of it. Either of them would do that in a heartbeat tbh. If one of them switched sides before the other, we would get some of that sweet sweet drama that would hopefully be over in a few episodes. If they would remain on opposite sides, I would be screaming in pain for the entirety of the show.
Tigress - I'm lowkey hoping that she'll switch sides just because of how fun it would be to watch. She also seems like she would never switch sides peacefully. I think it would have to be impossible for her to return to V.I.L.E. for that to ever happen, like if she messed up so badly that her returning there would have her either being mind-wiped or killed. She absolutely wouldn't be like "well I guess I'll return to a life that's in no way related to crime", if only because she really loves what she does. I can see her going rogue for a while and working solo, and then teaming up with Carmen under some fun dire circumstances.
Also, if something like this does happen, I can see nicer!Tigress being shipped off with Carmen or one of the siblings at the end, or at least becoming besties. I kind of feel like that scene when she got captured in S2 might be leading up to some sort of a really funky positive relationship between her and the siblings if she really will switch sides
Mime Bomb - he's the hardest to judge for me bc you know. He doesn't speak. So, I feel like he might just be the one person who will be the most loyal to V.I.L.E. He's been pretty much the most competent operative in the class, and we didn't get any info on his motivation, but I think there's a pretty good chance that he will be more intense that expected of a monochrome clown.
On the other hand, I also feel like you can immediately befriend him by being nice to him and caring about him feelings or something. That boy needs some friends.
