you know what the Star Trek franchise needs? we need to go back to the very beginning, do things like they did in the old days. no more shooting on digital, i want them shooting on Eastman Kodak chemically unstable film stock like they did in the 60s. i want those reels to be virtually useless after the first screening, or else it's not proper Trek. I want make-up that burns the actors faces and everyone in neon orange fake fur at all times.
in fact, go back even further, Star Trek was even better when it was called Casablanca and Captain Kirk was played by a piano. everything has been downhill since the Munchkins left. we need good writers who can tackle intelligent social questions like "is it morally correct to be singing and/or dancing in the rain? are we so arrogant that we can't contemplate using an umbrella?" and I want Charlie Chaplin to give a 5 minute speech at the end of every episode explaining the theme.
I want longer seasons with no special effects shots, e.g. winter 1993 was a good one, it went on forever and there was nothing special about it at all. and make sure there's at least two Ferengi episodes a year so I can whine about them being shit but also I'll whine even harder if you shorten the season. i basically want you to do an exact replica of what i liked in the past despite the fact that the TV landscape doesn't support that now and also if you could somehow recreate the nostalgia that prevents me remembering that it wasn't always that perfect in the past and that 2 of those 5 live action shows famously got cancelled, that would be amazing thanks.
