Metalica, Tiffany & La Seductora vs. La Guerrera, Mystique & Sanely
Who’s who?
Metalica in black masked, Tiffany in black with blonde hair and La Seductora in a nun inspired black getup with a white collar.
Guerrera in white, Mystique in black ninja inspired get up and Sanely in blue/black, one black full glove like her father Mano Negra.
How’s the match?
Very good, this was a breath of fresh air. Loved seeing these three tecnicas that don’t as often get to showcase what they do. La Guerrera had some awkward moments, but I felt every time something happened she did a great job of recovering. Sanely/Mystique both seemed pretty smooth in what they did here. I’m only really hot on Metalica on the ruda side, but thought all 3 did fine. No one seemed awkward here and seemed like a good proof that CMLL can run a luchadora match without Dalys/Sugehit/Marcela. Hope we can see more that don’t rely on one of those 3 leading the bout.
Super Astro Jr. vs. El Coyote lightning match
Who’s who?
Super Astro Jr. in silver & El Coyote in brown.
How’s the match?
Great! This lightning match was fantastic and my favorite singles match in CMLL this year... barring Dragon Lee/Barbaro Cavernario. Still that had two hyped and proven main event talents who are both holding gold. Super Astro Jr. on the other hand hasn’t even been on the roster for a year yet. El Coyote likewise is a fairly new face in CMLL. I hope this is just the first step in both having a big 2019, this match is the best case either has going forward. A fantastic showcase of skill and what this Tuesday New Values show should be about.
Rey Cometa, Triton & Fuego vs. Sagrado, Misterioso & Kawato San
Who’s who?
Cometa in blue, Triton in white & Fuego in orange/yellow.
Sagrado in black, Misterioso in green, Kawato in red.
How’s the match?
Very good, both these teams work well as units as both have plenty of experience with each other. I’m a big fan of Triton, but wonder why he isn’t with Esfinge since they have a tag title together. Feels like Esfinge would have been welcomed in the other two spot, even if it’s nice to see Fuego here(he didn’t do much tbh). Misterioso continues to carry momentum here, but again, to what end we don’t really know if anything other than some luck.
Blue Panther, Titan & Soberano Jr. vs. Hechicero, Shocker & Nitro
Who’s who?
Blue Panther in blue/white, Titan in dark blue with silver mask & Soberano Jr. in white and pink.
Hechicero in suspenders, Shocker in black tanktop and Nitro has a fuzzy head on his mask.
How’s the match?
Good, the weakest match of the night, but not that awful either. Hechicero carried his team, which he accomplishes well. He was in this match plenty where as I’m having a hard time recalling much, if anything Nitro did here. They subvert the quick 1/2 falls trope and instead give us a short 3rd round, so that should be given props. Still, of all the matches I saw on this card, this one seems the most skippable of the night.
Volador Jr., Angel de Oro & Niebla Roja vs. NGD(Sanson, Cuatrero & Forastero)
Who’s who?
Volador Jr. in white, Angel de Oro in gold & Niebla Roja in red.
Sanson in majority white pants, Cuatrero has horseshoes on his gear while Foraster has gold boots and pants.
How’s the match?
Very good, this isn’t the best match from NGD or any of the tecnicos either, but the outcome was exciting and gives up a tease at a Mexican National Trios Championship match sometime down the road. It’s nice to see Oro/Roja get this win after 2018 has seen Angel de Oro be beaten seemingly over and over again by Cuatrero in both trios and especially in singles. This win felt earned too with both Oro/Roja putting in the work for that 3rd fall. Getting long sequences where they worked circles around NGD.
