Restaurant Review : LA Prime (steakhouse) $$$$ *6 out of 10*
LA Prime is located atop the Bonaventure Hotel in the heart of Downtown LA. Therefore, you get a prime view of DTLA's skyline. While the twinkling lights of the city are a great sight to see, I found the food and experience to be mediocre in every way. The drinks were okay, the service was decent, our dry-aged Delmonico Rib eye ($57) was cooked perfectly (charred black and blue) but it lacked flavor! LA Prime's signature seafood platter ($48) was a disappointment; the oysters and shrimp cocktail I enjoyed, but the lobster and crab tasted frozen and bland. Based on my experience, I would take the "LA Prime's Signature" off of the title and just call it a seafood platter. That way the customers might not be quite as disappointed. If your primary discerning factor in a restaurant is the view, this is the place for you! If not, you can easily find better steakhouses to spend your dollar dollar bills at!
