La Vecina, 628 N Avenue 64, Los Angeles (Highland Park), CA 90042
I think I've been to all the newish bodega grocery/convenience stores in the area. La Vecina is a smaller store that sells pantry staples (pasta, condiments, sauces), spices, snacks (candy, chips), drinks (nothing alcoholic), coffee, tea, dog treats, cleaning supplies, organic farm fresh produce, ceramics, skin care, etc.
They have a mix of everyday brands that you can find at Sprouts and Vons (e.g., Knorr, Tapatio, Heinz, Mazola, Kettle Chips) and some smaller brands. But I would say you can find most of what they sell on the shelf to the left at Sprouts, Target, and Vons. The produce selection is limited.
I think they have bread on weekends. Maybe they'll add prepared foods next year. They don't have a freezer or fridge at the moment, so that means no ice cream, cold drinks, leafy green veggies, yogurt, etc.
The store smells great. They sell palo santo, incense, sage, etc.
