Emily grew angry with the blonde. Like she didn’t know?! She knew everything, unfortunately. She wished she could be naive and just sit in Kanbalar waiting for her king to return to her. This wasn’t it though. She bore a lot. Finding out really recent who Gaius really was, almost pushed her over the edge. This was the true tipping point.
“I care! Elle cares and so does Ludger! Had Gaius not called me saying you stormed out of that asshole’s office, I wouldn’t have known to go looking for you! If anything, I was worried sick about you!” Why didn’t Milla see that? She didn’t know the other Milla either.
“I know they aren’t good people. For goodness sakes, no one is perfect! You know how long I went before Gaius told me the truth about who he is? I still have trust issues. With everyone! That includes new people as well.” She took a small step back, her head hanging down.
“But, maybe I should trust that you don’t give a damn about me...” She shook her head. “You never cared about us. So how in hell are we suppose to care about you?!”
