Better Luck Tomorrow Shows on Gala Night at the 33rd Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival

Fifteen years ago, a sophomore film directed by Justin Lin (who later became known for his directorial work on The Fast and The Furious and”Star Trek Beyond“) premiered Better Luck Tomorrow at Sundance.   On April 29, 2017, the the director’s cut was played onscreen to a sold out opening gala night of the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival.

Last week, though we couldn't watch YELLOW (tech issues), ran into...actor and #Advantageous homie Jacqueline Kim! Met the director Chris Chan Lee! I remember watching #Yellow in high school, with its angry, angst-ridden asian male characters, and said, "Oh shit that's me!" #laapff2017 #starredjohncho (at The Downtown Independent)

Days 3 & 4 of the LA Asian Pacific Film Festival = had a lovely chat with Sung Kang about him judging my script at the festival 3 years ago, attended @sujataday's mega informative panel with Freddy Wong, got interviewed for #thisfilipinoamericanlife podcast, @jacesonic reunited with @meditatingbunny and the Mixed Match cast, attended the #Gook premiere and Afterparty, watched the awesome #bronzeville jazz concert, and the Rebel Hearts shorts block. Thanks for an amazing time, @vconline. I love this festival!!
