Hello i love your thoughts about Kacchan being his hero name because i find it so so meaningful, it's a name with history and symbolizes not just Kacchan's relationships (esp with Deku) but also his own personal growth and change of perspective on heroism. And you articulated my thoughts so beautifully!!!! Thank you thank you thank you. Kacchan is the most meaningful hero name for him and i will die on this hill
I agree with you 100% my dear. I've seen a lot of people say it wouldn't make sense in context with the story, but how could it not? We, the audience, also mainly know Bakugou as Kacchan. Since the first chapter, that's the name that was thrown at us.
Deku has always had the imagine of a strong, confident hero in his head, and that was Kacchan. Kacchan was the person he always followed after and strived to surpass. That didn't change as they grew older, which is why that name didn't change.
Deku doesn't see Kacchan as Bakugou, because Bakugou to him, is a stranger. Bakugou isn't the hero kid he always watched and admired. Bakugou isn't this incredibly strong and resilient force that was even brave enough to take on All Might with close to no fear. Bakugou is an angry and bitter person. Bakugou doesn't understand his own feelings and lashes out, he distances himself from people.
They're both people in one body, but Deku only ever sees Kacchan. He has only ever seen the strength and confidence and resolve of Kacchan, and it's what he'll always see. Bakugou, he couldn't see it before. All of those confusing emotions and doubt when it came to himself was blocking his view of Kacchan.
But in our latest chapters, I feel that he finally broke through. He was able to connect with that name, and become the hero Deku always saw him as. Which is why it would be incredibly prominent to the story, and it fits beautifully.
