Ch 46- on the path that led me to you
Read here. :))) Little teaser below.
“Does that- hurt?” Samuel asked, and Armin realized the boy had been staring at him relentlessly for a few moments.
Armin raised a brow in question and Samuel simply pointed with trepidation to his own face.
“Oh,” Armin breathed out in realization, but paused before he answered. He hadn’t been asked that question yet.
“Yeah, I guess it does.” He said after a moment. “But… I don’t really notice it because it’s also healing itself. The scarring goes away completely in about an hour.” He finished.
In truth, everything about the process hurt- but he was so used to it now that it no longer mattered. All pain becomes numb eventually… at least that’s what he’d learned ever since he set out on this absurd journey to become a Scout.
No… it was before that. On the streets of Shiganshina when the other boys chased him down and bruised him for his bread. When he came home one day to find only his grandfather in the house, and the Military Police had explained with stony faces that his parents were never coming back. Clutching his grandfather’s straw hat as he watched him marching off to die beyond the wall.
In truth, he now knew that he wished all scars healed as quickly as the ones left behind from his Titan. It would certainly make life a little more bearable, he thought as the boat continued to bob along over the waves.
