PACUCOA Scandal

Alam niyo yung PACUCOA? Basta yung sa accreditation kemerut ng mga college/university. So yun. Nagpunta last week yung accreditors sa school namin para sa preliminary visit ng B.A tsaka na rin ng ibang courses. Monday or Tuesday (last week) daw ang visit.

Thursday (last last week), nag patawag ng meeting yung isang Dean na in-charge sa accreditation. In-orient kami para sa gagawing dialogue ng accreditors with the students. Sa orientation na yun, diniscuss samin kung ano ba yung mga mangyayari sa dialogue. Ano ba yung mga itatanong at paano dapat sumagot. Scripted? Opo :3

So ayun na. Monday (last week) dumating na yung accreditors. 2pm yung dialogue. Sakto, 2pm din tapos ng klase ko. So diretso na ako dun. Sa 7 na BA na umattend ng orientation, 2 lang kaming pumunta nung Monday. So ako, niyaya ko yung ibang tropa na BA din na gusto makausap yung accreditors. Para iparating lahat ng reklamo sa school na hindi naman pinapakinggan ng admins. We're kinda aktibista btw. :3

So ayun. Nung kami na yung iniinterview ng accreditors, di na kami nagpapigil. Di uso ang script. Reklamo kung reklamo talaga. Pero syempre may basis naman yung reklamo namin. May sense naman. Like yung mode of teaching ng mga professors. Yung facilities. Yung policies. Yung grading system, etc. Pero pinaka bumenta talaga yung OSA. Yeah. Sa sobrang epal ng OSA OIC namin, lahat ng students imbyerna sa kanya. Pero walang naglalakas ng loob na magsalita. Since kami na ang nandun, kami na. Sa ngayon, ang latest na balita samin ay until this March 31 na lang daw yung OSA OIC namin. Narindi na yata yung mga admins sa sobrang dami ng reklamo sa kaniya. Tsaka di na nila hihintaying kami pang mga estudyante ang personal na magsabi sa President ng school. Yes po. Ganun ka approachable ang President namin. Abot-kamay lang.

Isa pang nayanig ng ginawa namin ay yung office ng BA. Kasi nga sinabi namin lahat ng reklamo namin about sa profs. Andun yung sinabi naming may mga prof na papasok ng room para makipag kwentuhan lang. Puro reporting lang ang pinagagawa. Andun din yung sinabi naming yung mga prof na di naman aligned yung tinapos sa course/subject na hawak ngayon. Yung mga ganun. Bago pa yung accreditaion keme na yan, super close kami sa faculty. Bilang mga council officers din kami. Kaya nung nagtaka sila bakit daw alam namin ang profile ng profs, medyo naloka na lang ako. Kasi naman, halos tambayan na namin ang office. Kami laging in-charge dun. Tsaka close nga kami diba? Panong di pa namin malalaman diba? Kaloka.

So ayun na. After that dialogue, bigla talagang nagbago. Di na kami pinapansin ng mga profs. Kami naman dedma lang. HAHA! Tapos ayun na. Ilang ulit naming nabalitaan na ipapatawag daw kami sa OSA. Pero hanggang ngayon wala pa. Matatanggal na lang yata yung OSA OIC kami di pa rin kami kinakausap :3 May nabalitaan din kaming nasa watch list na daw kami. Kasi gatecrasher daw yung iba (kasi nga di naman sila na-orient). Ang point lang naman dun, nagalit sila kasi nasiraan sila. Pero kung pinuri sila ng mga "gatecrasher" na yun, di naman sila magagalit. Wew!

Ang dami daming issue ang biglang lumabas. Siyempre bidang bida ang tropa. Pero dedma lang ang eksena. HAHA! Di kami natatakot. Kasi kahit kailan di naman naging mali ang pagsasabi ng totoo. Oo, maaaring makasama, pero hindi mali.

Sa ngayon, 1 week na lang finals week na. Ang balita namin ihohold daw grades namin. Mukhang papahirapan kami sa pagkuha ng clearance. May balita pa na baka iban daw kami next school year. HAHA! Pero keri lang.

Nakakapanghinayang din lahat ng efforts na ginawa nila para sa accreditation na yan. Pero kung di kasi kami magsasalita, di mababago yung sistema. Bulok pa rin. Ilang taon na kaming nagtiyaga sa ganong palakad ng school. Kaya ngayong nabigyan kami ng pagkakataong umaksyon, di na namin pinalagpas pa. Pumangit man imahe namin sa mga profs, magalit man sila samin, keri lang. Basta kami, gusto lang namin makatulong. Kung hindi kasi ngayon, kailan pa? Chareng lang! HAHA! So yun. Habaaaaaaa! -_-

The Lady in Yellow: Why Corazon Aquino is an Icon of Filipino Democracy

After Marcos’ iron hand rule had relinquished its grasp on the Philippines through the People Power Revolution of 1986 on the length of the Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (EDSA), Corazon Aquino assumed the position of presidency. She became an icon of democracy after her husband’s assassination had left the Filipino people searching for someone who could be the face of the democracy they were fighting for. Willingly following the demand of her countrymen, it is said that she had paved a way for the country’s re-democratization.

Before winning as the president, Cory had already fought alongside the masses when she ran on a snap election planned and executed by Marcos. The United National Democratic Party (UNIDO) and the PDP Laban chose her as their president candidate together with Salvador H. Laurel, Jose P. Laurel’s son. Making everything seem to be working on their side, the Kilusang Bagong Lipunan (KBL) which is Marcos’ party arranged a battle cry on the streets declaring support for the dictatorial regime. But as Marcos’ kept his façade, supporters of Cory continue to add up. Using their slogans “Tama na, Sobra na, Palitan na!” and “Ituloy ang laban ni Ninoy!” the Aquino-Laurel alliance had bought them huge numbers of patrons that will eventually be fighting with them in the near future.

Aquino-Laurel lost to the KBL’s candidates but it is said that the votes result was “doctored” throught fake documents and bribery. Because of this, even the Catholic Church had lost their trust on the government saying that it has lost its moral basis due to electoral fraud1. The Church called for the citizens’ participation for a peaceful rally against the government.

Ilang araw akong di nakapagblog ng matino dahil sa pressure at kaba na naramdaman ko sa natapos na pupcet kahapon. Ngayon, back to normal na :) Ayoko na muna isipin yung result ng pupcet. Maghahanap na lang ako ng ibang school na mura lang din. Aja! ^_^
