“I’ve never necessarily been the person to give people the benefit of the doubt, but... sometimes I suppose it might be worth it,” She grimaced a bit, but why had she brought that up? She might never know. “People are hard to trust. Who knows what anyone is ever thinking... and honestly, I don’t know if I want to know half the time. Minds of others are a scary place.” She’d been burned enough in her life to just feel that it was safe to say that she didn’t care for the idea of blind trust, and she was inherently difficult to get to know by now. When you considered how she ended up getting black out drunk and married to a guy who she was dating, who would disappear on her and mail her the divorce papers several months later, well. It was safe to say she felt she had a reason to be so standoffish.

What was the point of learning something new? Arsenal is spacing out looking at the lights of the ceiling while spinning his pen on one hand.

The instructor kept talking and talking about the different ways of cooking an egg. The names of the methods Sunny-Side-Up egg, Benedict egg, scrambled egg and... She just lost him. He wasn't hearing anymore. A sigh.

He was probably the most disinterested student of that cooking class and the less experienced too. The others were paying close attention, nodding and taking notes. He just wished to be somewhere else.

But where?

He thought that a fresh start could help him forget.

Maybe if he got real hobbies and met new people instead of spending nights cleaning guns and binge watching movies until he passes out on the couch, he could finally let go of his past.

The present was a pain. He just wants this class to end.

Looking over the shoulder of the guy in front of him, he tries to copy his notes. At least he looked pretty interested in the class so his notes must be good.
