Nope, I wanna say it’s a word that’s very specifically about that phenomenon, or addressing the power dynamics of it, and not used for anything else. Thanks tho!

I know I came across it within the past week or so, in something I’m pretty sure I’d read before, and went “ah yes that’s a useful word!” and then didn’t make a note of it and now I need it. >:[

Seriously I actually dug through a bunch of boxes in my basement where mine probably are, and I couldn’t find a single one. Not even the cheap metal thumb rosary I’m sure I’ve got at least one or two of.

I did find at least one cross or crucifix in every box (and the last dried palms from by my childhood bedroom door, lol), stray dance medals tucked into the most random spots, literal trash, and (so at least it wasn’t a total waste) my old copy of The Little Prince that I’ve been looking for for ages but couldn’t find because it was tucked between papers instead of in a box with other books.

I did technically find one rosary, but it was in a box of things that I quickly realized were my mother’s memorabilia, and it was in a bag with a number of Catholic Tourist other items that came from Lourdes and possibly other shrines, almost certainly brought back for my mother by either my grandparents or my great-aunt the nun.

I probably would have grabbed it anyway, but it was knit, and I need clacky beads.

I thought that only pulled them off your feed? I don’t mind seeing their posts in my feed. I just don’t want to see in my Notifications when they like/react to/comment on my posts.

A fun one was in seventh grade my friend Yvy and I came up with code names for everybody we wanted to talk about, and then used them along with a basic cipher to write notes to pass to each other, which we did by rolling them up inside a pen or (mechanical) pencil and then passing that back and forth. So, for example, a girl whose initials were AB was referred to as “Roller,” because Ab Roller commercials were all over at the time.
