Library Update!
I ended up reading 114 books in 2024. I will update my November/December reads. I got sick and then the holidays happened. I will also be making a reference system so if you want to look at books from certain genres you can find them easier.
Some news for 2025:
The Greek Mythology section of the library is going to have a massive update. I have a bunch of Percy Jackson to finally read as well as some other books based on the greeks, so stay tuned and happy new year!

Yes, it's a punctuation book. No, I will not be apologizing for reading it. The director of my MFA program recommended this one to all of us, and I think it is amazing. It is humorous and enlightening and I learned so much (and learned that I'd been doing a lot of stuff wrong for many years). I think everyone should read a punctuation book. I think it'll make your writing better. I think if you have to read a punctuation book, read one written by an English person. Their humor on the subject makes it not awful.

Finally, a Jo and Laurie love story. I always loved the idea of them together since I read Little Women in 7th Grade. This is a gorgeous and heartwarming book that doesn't feel like its too different from the original source material. I love how they weaved in the pressures that Louisa would've felt after writing Little Women to write Good Wives and have everyone paired off happily. At its heart, it's a fix-it fic. If you read Little Women/Good Wives and were team Jo/Laurie over Amy/Laurie, then this book is for you. I

So I am actually linking y'all to the full edition that has parts one and two. I got bamboozled and had to buy two books because the Little Women story that we all see in the movies is actually two of Alcott's books, Little Women and Good Wives. Little Women Covers the childhood of all the girls until when their father comes home from the Civil War. Good Wives covers the adulthood of the four sisters (Jo, Beth, Amy, and Meg) and their relationships, hopes, and dreams. Little Women is one of the few classics that I read and loved as a child so I was eager to reread them, not realizing that I had read the complete edition back in middle school, hence the confusion and why I have different reviews for Little Women and Good Wives.
So, my thoughts on Little Women (Part 1) can basically be summed up as such: It's Little Women. It's a classic for a reason. I will never not love Jo March and see a little bit of myself in her. It makes me wish I had siblings sometimes, and it makes me wish I had a Laurie at all times.

Review:
Book two of the Something Dark and Holy Series. Honestly, I am obsessed with this series. It mostly focuses on three characters: Nadya, Serefin, and Malachiasz. I picked up Wicked Saints by accident from 2nd and Charles last December because I thought it looked interesting and I found this criminally underrated series instead. It's lush and decadent set in an Eastern European feeling world where there's a war between religious zealots and blood mages. It's about teens who are thrust into these positions of power and have to re-evaluate every tale they've been fed about the "other" group. It's told from multiple POVs. I absolutely love the characters. I cannot recommend this series enough.
