Years ago, there was a sorcerer who wielded petrified darkness to gain immortality. Alongside him was his house cat, Murat. Murat was always more intellectual than his sorcerer owner. So much so, he knew that immortality would only lead to loneliness. Knowing he could never change the sorcerer's mind, Murat threw the spellbook and petrified darkness into a fireplace, sacrificing his own mortality. Renaming himself to Lackrester, the lonely feline was eventually found by Hex and Funny Bone, lying atop his owner's grave. After Lackrester told his story (nodding off several times), the duo took pity on him and recruited him for the position as Skylander.
Many years ago, there was a youthful sorcerer who seeked immortality and his loving house cat, Murat. The duo were inseparable friends, practically family. Murat, especially, loved his kind young caretaker.
One day, the young sorcerer obtained a great spell book and, within the spell book, lied an immortality spell. The young sorcerer was so excited to learn such magic, he didn't acknowledge any cons of having immortality. But Murat noticed that the spell required the young sorcerer to sell his soul to an unknown evil Undead force, making him used as a battery for that evil force. Murat couldn't bare having that happen to his owner, so he ripped the page out of the spell book and threw it into the fireplace.
Little did Murat know, the spell could also activate by burning the page it was written on. And so, the immortality spell clung onto Murat, much to the dismay of his owner who was very sorry he even brought that cursed book back.
Years passed, the young sorcerer aged till his death, and Murat transformed into a zombielike restless feline forcibly renamed to Lackrester, now getting what little sleep he can upon his owner's grave. Until, he was approached by Cynder and Funny Bone who, after hearing his tale, took pity on him and brought him to Master Eon.
Master Eon relieved Lackrester from his control of the mysterious evil force chaining his soul and asked the cat if he would be willing to become a Skylander. After some consideration, Lackrester concluded that his previous owner would be very proud of him if he agreed. So, with a yawn in his throat, Lackrester accepted.
