Recently, Icarus had learnt of where he came from, who his brother is, how he lost these memories, and, worse of all, who caused him to lose his home.
After learning all of that, a sour feeling surged through him. He ran out of the laboratory, unable to bare the sadness.
Trying to recollect himself, he went to an AU where he knew he was welcome: the Skeletwins AU.
Their exchange
Thanks guys...
After their friendly embrace, Icarus left, now more motivated than ever to get to his brother. He knew, in order to find his brother, he needed to find the one who took him away: Error.
Now, Icarus may have been a Papyrus, but he never really knew many AUs. And those he did know were often either too weird or too busy. (in Ink's case, both.)
However, there was one AU he knew personally,
One he was strangely great friends with,
One he knew would love the idea of a fight with Error.
So, Icarus, with no other option, called upon him. And, after some time, he found himself in his throne room, standing before him.
* you rang?
Um, yes your majesty.
* there's no need for formalities, icarus. you, of all people, know you can just call me king.
R-Right. Sorry. It's just been awhile. Since we... last spoke.
* painful yet true. now then, what did you want, buddy?
W-Well, I recently found out that, um, Error nearly destroyed my AU and is, somehow, holding my brother hostage in... what's left of it. I also seriously doubt that she'd let me... in... it.
* i see... what do you wish to do about it?
Icarus knew full well what he wanted, but he couldn't quite think a better way to say it. So, he decided to just blurt it out.
I wanna make Error pay, even if just once. I want her to come to me and receive all the pain that she inflicted onto me and my brother! All the pain, rage, and sadness. Returned to it's sender. If, uh, that's alright with you.
* interesting. well, how about this?
With a snap, King's chains opened a portal to an empty blue corridor and he gave Icarus simple instruction as he entered.
* ready yourself. i will give you five minutes before i get error. if you win, i shall personally take you to your home AU.
And if I lose?
* error will most likely finish what she started.
......Sigh. Understood. But, before anything else, thanks for helping me, King.
* eh. no problem. gets boring, sitting on a throne all day.
Icarus, now knowing the risk, entered the portal and readied himself for the biggest fight of his life...
Oddly FIFTEEN minutes later, there she was. The one who took everything from Icarus. The one who deserved to be destroyed herself. Error.
* hello, anomaly.
* guess I didn't finish the job, did I? well, I was wondering why I didn't ever feel like killing your "brother" Mettaton. all this time, I wondered why I couldn't just do to them what I have to every other AU I've destroyed.
Icarus, hearing that, could only imagine the horrors Error had brought to the Multiverse. The lives she has taken.
* but, now that your here, my job of Glidertale's destruction can finally be over with. so, first, I'll finish you off. then your brother will join you once and for all. How's that sound?
Icarus had heard enough.
...Soon.
* soon? soon what?
Soon, you'll pay for what you've done, Error. Not just for me, but the thousands you've destroyed. Prick.
Like that, Icarus was ready. Now with his fully charged up magic, he unleashed his NEO form, truly ready to defeat the one who hurt his friends.
* tchahahah. so ya got wings. so what? YOU WON'T WIN THIS!!
We'll just have to see for ourselves...
After a gruesome fight being seemingly won in Icarus's favor, he ran out of magic. His wings and armor now gone, and his soul exposed. Error's only remaining chance at victory.
Of course, one she couldn't resist to take...
* checkmate.
It had seemed Icarus was bested, despite his best efforts. Knowing she had won, Error just HAD to rub it in.
* heHAHAHAHA!! YOU IDIOT! did you seriously think you could defeat me!?
Not that easily, no...
His eyes and marks on his cheeks now glowing, Icarus stood up and started wrapping Error's wires around his arms. Error started getting pulled toward as he did this.
* what- what are you doing?
Suddenly the wires slowly turned from blue to yellow, the new hue seemingly reaching for Error.
* w-wait. WAIT!
And when it reached her eyes...
*visceral screaming*
Icarus had Error, the one who ruined his life and many others before and after him, right where he wanted her. However, Icarus knew he wouldn't allow himself to kill Error. So instead, once she admits her defeat, he will leave her with a pain she could never get rid of. Now unable to move, Error was given no other choice but to...
Give up.
* §TØP!!! I C4N'Ť TAƘE IT!!!
You heard me.
* K1NG!! IŊ&K!!! ĂN7B@ĐY!!!! H&ŁP M3!!!!!
Give. Up. Now.
* ßTOP!! S70P IT!!! PL·LƏAS3!!! S2$ŢTOØ@9P!!!
NOW!!
* ALRIGHT!!!!! Just... please... stop...
Error was barely able to breath. The pain within her eyes burning throughout her entire body. Icarus wasn't undamaged either. His wrist and arms searing with pain, his head beginning to spin, and his soul now ever slightly cracked. But in the end, despite the chances of loss and all the pain he forced himself to bare,
Icarus had won.
Icarus unwrapped his arms and soul and walked towards the exit of the corrider, leaving Error to writhe in pain as she had done to his brother.
King was, as expected, watching the entire thing from a distance and was very impressed with Icarus's power. So, as promised, he opened the portal to Glidertale and led Icarus to Mettaton. On the way, King became curious of something...
* so, you won.
Yeah. Didn't even know I was that strong till now. If I may ask, why'd you take three times as long as you said you would?
* oh. yeah. i forgot.
Yeah, that makes perfect sense.
* now, i must ask. after all that you've done today, how in the world will you be able to rest easy?
Icarus thought on the question and realized the perfect answer.
By knowing my brother is safe.
* ah. gotcha. welp, there he is so, i'll just be going.
There he was, indeed. Icarus's brother. Even with the thoughts of him being a Sans, the thoughts that he'd be dead, the thoughts that he may not really even have one, there he was.
Uncertain if what they were seeing was even real, the two brothers couldn't utter a word. They could barely move. Yet tears still persisted, filling their eyes. Proving to each other that they were thinking the same thing.
Finally, Mettaton rised from the ground and the brothers started stepping toward each other, tears filling their eyes. Mettaton limping from a broken leg, and Icarus wincing from his sores and cracked soul.
Now face-to-face, the reunited brothers stood there, tears gushing down there face. Choking on their words before they could even leave their mouths.
IS- IS IT RE-RE-REALLY YOU?
Yes, Happs. ...It is.
No more words were required. They knew what this meant. Finally. They were together again.
Tears continued drowning their faces even as they embraced. Their souls both aching with familiar love for each other.
It was no easy task for Icarus, and Mettaton knew it. All the effort to find their Home AU, the friendships he gained to push through the pain, the power to defeat the one who separated them.
Salutations, Core! Hi, BlueStar. Who's that you got there? Oh, this? I'm not fully sure. It came from that old station before it blew up. It feels like a monster soul, but different. Hm. Must be an artificial soul.
I presume this is why you were making that body for? Oh, yes. I'm still working on a name for him though. What about Sollys?
Sollys? Yeah. It means Sun and he seems to be just as powerful as your soul. It makes enough sense, right? Yeah, it does. Alright. Sollys it is.
Hm? Oh, hello there. Where did you come from? ...Probably that wreckage, actually. Though, your presence doesn't feel quite like those who were in there before that burst.
What are you anyway? You seem like a star. Yet you feel like a soul. Perhaps you are one in the same. Although, you seem to have lost your cage.
You... never had one? Oh, you poor thing. Here. Come closer. I will make one for you. It may take a while, but it'll certainly be worth it.
