Thiksey Monastery stands tall at the banks of Indus, the river that gives name to our country India.⠀ An impressive 12 storied structure, Thiksey is said to be resembling the Patola Palace in Lhasa Tibet. Well, I have been outside Thiksey a few times but could never go really inside the monastery, even this time as I had just started climbing it started to rain and we had to abandon our climb and get back.
