Grace Van Dien in Lady Driver
I was just poking about the internets, as ya do, for some different photos of Jemma, and found a theatre review for Donkey’s Years, which she did in 2014. She’s described as ‘the willowy Lady Driver’, who’s the college master’s wife.
Anyway, the play, by Michael Frayn, is a farce and she was the only women in the cast.
So this photo (by Alistair Muir) is from the rehearsal, but the rest are not.
Nice naval shot there, Jemma! Of course, she’s distraught, which upsets me. Gah! Don’t do that, girl!
And here she’s hiding behind a newspaper, I’m assuming (since I’ve not seen/read the play) because of the guy without his trousers.
I find it interesting that Lady Driver wears a suit and very practical flat shoes, and that she looks more masculine than feminine.
Now I have to see if the library has a copy of Donkey’s Years that I can borrow.
Inktober Day 27. Things always ended badly out on the coast highway.
