Francine Frye had been a young woman living in New York City who had cultivated a reputation as something of a super villain groupie.  She was often available to help out the various costumed crooks and had a brief affair with Max Dillon (the original Electro).  Dillon’s malfunctioning powers accidentally killed Fancine but she was later resurrected by The Jackal who altered her genetic material so to replicate Dillon’s electrical powers.  Following Dillon’s apparent death, Francine took his place as the new Electro.   She has had a number of run-ins with Spider-Man and The Prowler as well as a misguided partnership with Boomerang.  Lady Electro fist appeared the pages of The Amazing Spider-Man Vol. 3 #2.
