im just thinking about how vesemir and jaskier have both asked "what is time anyway?" and for vesemir it was between two old childhood friends that had feelings for each other and the question was loaded with the weight that even though he hadn't seen illyana in decades he still loved her so much and time didn't change that and like. it's so fucking similar to what jaskier asked geralt when he saw geralt again after what was probably years in bottled appetites and just...... no one fucking touch me

The Wolf of Vesemir coming in August (and new trailer today!)
and it’s this Queen’s birthday
Sad that there arent 14k+ fix it fics where Lady Zerbst survived the attack and helped Vesemir cope with the fall of his order and with teaching him to be less harsh on the boys left in his care. Training is necessary, blunt lessons on survival are a must, but if the boys are to survive to even have a chance of being witchers, he cannot follow in the footsteps of his predecessors and beat a lesson into the boys heads that the only way to learn is to grip the blade of the trials until it cuts to bone.
My Immediate Opinion after watching Nightmare of the Wolf is…
Meh.
It’s ok. Not fantastic.
I found the pacing to be all over the place, the character motivations and conflict to not be very compelling, and that overall the filmmakers did not provide an sufficient interpretation of a moment so central to Witcher lore.
Recently on Twitter there was some discourse on what constitutes *Canon* for The Witcher, with one person replying that all material that is not the original novels is effectively fan fiction. (This can obviously applied to all franchises and pieces of media that adapt or derive a portion of their plot from something else, not simply The Witcher, and as a whole I can generally agree with this statement.)
With that in mind this is not a fan fiction that particularly engrossed me, and I have found other fandom interpretations of the Sacking of Kaer Morhen to be far more interesting and compelling.
I will probably rewatch Nightmare of the Wolf when it is not 2AM when I have work tomorrow to see is my opinion changes, but for now these are my thoughts.
Now to get some sleep.
Boys, monsters will fuck through the winter, then come spring, there'll be jobs from here to Nazair. Until then, I say we perk up, drink up, and you two focus on breaking these brats into the world of witchering.
