For Sleepover Friday--an unpopular opinion?

Trying to think of a good Avengers unpopular opinion … 

• I wasn’t nearly as offended by Bruce and Nat as a lot of people seemed to be. I was offended that Clint cheated on her by having a wife, but not that she connected to Bruce. 

Let’s see … oooooo, here’s a big one … 

• I don’t get into Stucky. At all. Or really anything m/m, it doesn’t do it for me. But with Stucky, I feel like having them as friends is epic, and having them as lovers takes away from the friendship. I have a friend I’d burn everything down for, but it doesn’t mean I want to sleep with her. I think it’s because I feel like friendships are just as important as romantic relationships, they’re just different. Making Steve and Bucky lovers feels like saying … becoming lovers is the end-all-be-all of human interaction and it’s just not the case. And boys are allowed to have very close and loving friendships, just like girls, and not be gay. I feel the same way about Frodo and Sam. 

• I’d rather Sam took on the mantle of Captain America over Bucky. I’m not totally sure why, but I just think Sam’s head is on straight in a way that not even Steve’s is and he’d make a better Cap. Plus, he’s funny as hell. I mean … fuck. Sorry guys ;-)

6: do you keep plants? Not well/for long.

13: what’s something that made you smile today? My sister watching Moana and laughing in all the right places.

16: what’s your favorite pasta dish?  Lasagna or fettuccine with butter/chili/garlic prawns (shrimp), rocket (arugala), green onions (names are too interchangable - long, green, tubular, no bulb ones), and a good squeeze of lemon.

17: what color do you really want to dye your hair? Purple. But I really don’t think I ever would.

23: what’s your favorite thing to do on lazy days where you have 0 obligations?  You mean weekends? Nothing.    

40: think of a piece of jewelry you own: what’s it’s story? does it have any meaning to you? I don’t wear jewellery but have managed to stockpile a lot of crap. The one legit piece I have is a gold and ruby ring my mother bought me for my 21st. It was gold (ew) and with three little rubies (didn’t she know I’d prefer amethyst?) and too small (ugh) and I was just like “gee, thanks mum” and put it away. Then one day I saw the same ring in a catalogue and realised how much my mum had spent on it, so I went out and got it resized and actually wore it for good long while -and what do you know I actually liked it/it looked nice on me, before it got too small for me again and I put it away.

46: tell us the worst pun you can think of. …My mind’s gone blank, I can’t think of any. 

55:what’s the most dramatic thing you’ve ever done to prove a point? Internet research.

Have you seen the trailer for the new Nutcracker movie? For some reason, I saw it and immediately thought of you.

LOL. And yes, I just watched it today, and I did not know what to think. I’m meh about it. (And it’s because I’m a fiend for Christmas and Nutcracker?)

5. Favorite dead actor/actress?

Tough one. I’m gonna say the dearly departed Golden Girls, but I can’t pick one of them. That’s probably my favorite show of all time. It still makes me laugh out loud and I’ve probably seen each episode a hundred times. 

10. Favorite animated movie?

Fave recent(ish) one is WALL-E. I love that little guy. Such a great movie. 

11. Favorite musical?

This is a strange one, but it’s Hello Dolly. I watched it so much as a kid. Not sure why. Which is also probably why I love WALL-E so much, because they use a song from Hello Dolly in the movie … huh. Nice ;-)

23. Favorite movie soundtrack?

Recently it’s the Guardians of the Galaxy soundtracks. I can’t get enough of them. They don’t make soundtracks like they used to, and Guardians is kinda like that. Where you can listen to all the songs. 

29. Movie you completely regret seeing?

Easiest question by far ;-) It will always be The Mist. My dude knows how much I hate fucked up and depressing movies and he put it on, acting like it would be something else, but it was SO FUCKED UP and when I think about it to this day, it still fucks me up. I’ve never trusted him again with picking out movies. He done fucked up good. 

Fuck that movie. 

50. The first movie you ever remember watching in theaters?

Hmmmm … my memory is totally fuzzy on that one. I know the first one I went to see multiple times was Uncle Buck. Me and my bro made my mom take us to see that so many times lol. It’s still one of our faves. We could probably recite all the lines. 

51. A movie that was better than the book?

The Devil Wears Prada. I can’t remember if I read it first or saw the movie first, but I remember liking the protagonist a lot more in the movie. In the book I was just kinda like, ‘whatever girl, this is what you signed up for’. I felt like it was choppy and not as funny as people told me it was supposed to be. The movie was an improvement. And funnier. And of course, Meryl Streep brought an otherwise pretty wooden “villain” to life.
