grey, white, yellow! :)
Sorry these answers are so long! I’m just too darn wordy, I swear!
Grey: 2 facts about my favorite things.
Hmmm… Since this is my Disney blog, I’ll go with Disney stuff! Okay, so, I watched Nightmare Before Christmas my freshman year of high school and I loved it. When my mom found out how much I loved it she was shocked because she said I had watched it at a friend’s house when I was three and it gave me nightmares. She couldn’t get the image of scared little Rachel out of her head so she couldn’t believe I liked it. XD
The Little Mermaid was the movie that really showed my family how theatrical I was and how I was rather destined to act. I was only two years old when I started singing and dancing to the songs. I had every movement memorized and I knew—not just the melodies—but the counter-melodies to every song in that movie. That movie gave a little girl more confidence than anything else could have. It was the start of me entertaining waiters and waitresses when we went to eat. It was the start of me trying on hats and acting out personalities for whoever I thought would wear them. It was the start of my passion and my dream.
White: 3 facts about my personality.
I am just about exactly one half introvert and one half extrovert. I have taken several Meyers-Briggs tests over the years and I am always around 51-52% introverted and 49-48% extroverted. It always just barely pushes over to the introvert side. I suppose this is because of several things: my extroverted nature as a child, my introverted nature when I became bullied extensively, and my rediscovery of my extroverted nature when I met Ben and Laurel. Bits of both always stuck with me and now I adapt to each situation as I see fit.
When I was being bullied extensively growing up, I found solace in Sherlock Holmes stories. I started reading Sherlock Holmes when I was six years old and gravitated towards him immediately. As such, I often based many aspects of my life, my personality, and my way of thinking around how Holmes himself behaved. A large part of that has never left me and I still embody the spirit Sherlock Holmes more than anyone I know. (Even if I am nicer now than he was. ;) )
A lot of people don’t like me. I love all people and value them but sometimes my brashness gets in the way. And, a lot of times, I pick on my friends. Now, those who are my friends know that I’m just teasing them and they’ll tease back and there are no problems because they know how much I love them and how much they mean to me… But when people who don’t know me see me interact with them in what could be considered a callous or cruel way, then they don’t understand our banter and they just think I’m being cruel to them. I had several people tell me that they were scared to death of me because they saw how mean I was to my friends. Incidentally, one person in high school made the mistake of saying this to me when my best friend, Laurel, was right there. Laurel went off on her about how she didn’t deserve to make those accusations about me when she didn’t even know me. I was really honored to have Laurel as my friend right then…. = )
Yellow: 7 facts about my childhood.
I was the only girl in a family of nothing but boys for fifteen years! That chain was broken when my little cousin Abby (who is seven now and is also the one I exchange Elsa pictures with) was born in 2005. = )
Being the only girl, my cousins picked on my a LOT. A WHOLE LOT. So, I learned to defend myself. BD
I am completely bad-ass at dodgeball. I can’t throw worth a flip but nothing in the world can hit me. I was ALWAYS the last one out. I feel this was out of fear from being hit since I was hit once, square in the face by a girl who hated me in 6th grade, and it broke my glasses.
I used to be part of a lifegroup for several years and the girl running the lifegroup was a college student named Autumn. (Her roommate’s name was Summer and they had two fish named Spring and Winter and that was totally awesome.) Autumn really helped me break out of my scared shell from all the bullying I endured and taught me to stand up for myself. I really wish I knew where she was now.
In third grade, I had a very horrid teacher named Mrs. Mathis. She was pregnant at the time but, really, that was no excuse for how she treated me. I was very, very quiet and talked to nobody but, for some reason, I was always getting into trouble in her class for “acting out” when I never did. Even my mother and the other teachers never believed her. One day, I was doing some long division problems and I was stuck and I whispered to the boy next to me how to do this one part and she yelled at me to be quiet, grabbed my arm, picked me up and put me outside in the hall and told me to stay there for the rest of the day. I was crying when another teacher came by, saw me, and took me into her room. That teacher taught me how to play chess and every time Mrs. Mathis sent me out in the hall, that teacher would take her chessboard and come out and play with me.
I was in several school plays when I was younger. I was Ophelia in a 2nd grade production of Hamlet. When we did the play again in 4th grade (I don’t know why we did it twice. I was in the gifted and talented classes each year which always consisted of the same students so, really, there was no reason for us to do it again.) I asked for Ophelia again because it was the exact same script and I still had the lines memorized. XD I didn’t think I’d be any good at memorizing lines so I always asked for the smallest part! (Ophelia’s part was reduced to only one scene for this version of the play.)
This is a little later on than childhood but, my junior year in high school, we did a production called The Rimers of Eldritch and I played a 90-year old dementia ridden woman. That would be the fourth time I had played an old woman. I was so annoyed that I had to play one again that I told my teacher (who was brand new to the school) and she told me, “If you make this the best old woman that China Spring has ever seen then I won’t give you an old lady part again.” It was on. That character had to walk with a cane. And so, for six months, everywhere I went, I walked around with a cane and a bad limp. For three hours every day, I would talk in a gravelly old woman voice. I practiced the hell out of that role… And when competition came up…. I surprised everyone—but mostly myself!—by winning Best Actress. I’d never been more shocked or felt more rewarded for all of my hard work.
So I saw you doing these and it just looks like too much fun to resist! :') Such wonderful work you do, hope you don't mind <3 My Disney lookalikes are usually the same, haha ;) but you seem to have a much bigger selection and I'd love to hear your take and have a doll made.
I love dresses and pretty much all colors so you can do whatever you'd like !
Eep! I'm so very honored to do yours! And people tell me that I give different look-a-likes than most people so... Who knows! Maybe I'll surprise you? XD
Disney Look-a-like:
No question about it whatsoever, you look just like Silvermist, the Water talent fairy! Honestly, you could be a face character for her. Your eyes, your smile, your facial structure--everything reminds me of her! Now, here's the one I'm sure you get a lot, but you do also remind me of Mulan. But it's not so much with the eyes as it is your nose and facial shape. If anything, your eye shape reminds me more of Mirage from the Incredibles! Actually, your smile reminds me of her, too. Can I do three look-a-likes? Is that allowed? Ah, psh, I'm doing. You half remind me of Mulan and half remind me of Mirage. XD But you all around remind me of Silvermist. B/
Doll Look-a-like:
All right, this one was wonderful to make. XD I know you have a penchant for Anna so I put you in a sort of Anna-themed outfit! And, boy, was it fun to make! I kept in coordination with her color scheme but I also branched out from it to give you more of an Anna-inspired look rather than just taking her look. It was great fun and, I have to say, I'm really proud of the results:
However, I didn't stop there! Since you reminded me of Silvermist and since I was bored, I decided to make you into a fairy, too! I played around with colors more on this one and gave some bright calming colors that I feel would go with your bright and calm personality! I made you a light talent fairy because, with your attitude and your kindness towards others, you bring light into their life just by being yourself. ^__^
(Sorry if the hair color isn't right. Your hair looked more dark brown than black in the picture, so I went with dark brown! If it's wrong, just let me know and it's a simple mouse click to make it black!)
Thank you so, so, SO much for submitting, dear, and I hope you enjoy the results!
Have a beautiful day, dear!
