it irks me too, but I read somewhere that it was made like this because we're supposed to hear their dialogue as an anglophone audience, while the characters all hear it in their own language... it still sucks though. how are you liking it?

I mean, I do understand that this way it’s “easier” to get to the entertainment value for the target anglophone audience, I really do

but I feel like the show is kinda undermining its own message of ~we are all human despite our differences~ when it just defaults the whole wide world to speaking english?

(and it gets just plain weird in that scene with capheus and his friend when you can actually hear his friend speaking in the local language while advertising the taxi service, only to turn back to capheus and start speaking english? why? can’t have everyone speaking english now?)I DON’T KNOW THIS IS JUST A RIDICULOUS PET PEEVE OF MINE I’M SORRY

anyway, so far it’s enjoyable, but I’m still on episode 1 so the storylines are kinda disjointed and the premise isn’t really clear yet, so I’m curious to see what happens
