Aerion who used to have servants whisper and cowar in fear at the mere sound of his footsteps.
Aerion who was known as the cruel prince across the land.
Aerion who stabbed a horse neck during a tournament once just because he wanted to win.
Aerion who broke a puppeteer’s finger and who set her whole tent on fire because in his opinion she dared to disrespect the Targaryen name.
Aerion who sided to threaten his younger brother, a small cruel smile on his face that disappeared the second his father looked his way, replaced instead by an innocent expression.
Aerion who suprised everyone by accepting his arranged marriage to a lord daughter. She didn’t have any important quality nor was she from some memorable house or had dragon blood.
Even his father was a bit skeptic at first, not sure if his son was keeping up the good act infront of his grandfather.
But Maekar was soon proved wrong when during the wedding he saw his son’s gaze locked to his soon to be bride.
During the whole feast his eyes were on his wife, hands coming to touch her in any way. Even slipping his hand beneath the table to hold hers.
His eyes softened in a way it creeped those around them.
He was not one to speak or look at someone with such..affection?
His family was sure freaked out.
You had heard stories about the dragon prince. His obsession with the dragon bloodline, his cruel nature and even more crueler actions.
The day your engagement was announced you had not been able to sleep for the days that came.
During your ceremony you tried your best to not let your fear show, clenching the fabric of your dress to soothe your anxiousness.
But he noticed.
The way your hands slightly trembled, the way you looked at him with frightened doe eyes.
You were just too adorable.
A treasure among the common people, he needed to protect you, keep you safe from the danger of the surrounding world, with him.
You were also stunned to see his behavior change drastically whenever he was with you.
You saw the way his harsh glare softened whenever he turned to you. The way his touch was so gentle compared to the way he had strikes that poor servant who spilled his tea. The way his words dripped with honey, voice gentle as he spoke with you compared to the way he had insulted his own brother with nothing but harshness and cruelty in his voice.
But you did not say anything. You preferred it this way, you somehow..liked it.
It felt like someone truly saw you as the center of their world, for the first time you were someone’s first choice.
And you did not realize it but you had gotten somehow used to it.
So when he had proposed to you to move somewhere else for a while, a small castle not to far from kingslanding but still far enough to be away from everything you had accepted. Nor did you question him when he offered to move permanently, nor when you stopped seeing your ladies in waiting or barely saw any maids or servants anymore. Nor when you had barely heard from your family.
And poor sweet you, you couldn’t have possibly know that what he truly wanted was to get you to trust him enough so he could cage you and keep you all to himself.
Dragons protected their treasures.
(Just wanted to to something for Aerion, nothing too crazy)

To you, he's a good husband, a kind husband. He looks after you, protects your dignity, and keeps you safe.
He makes you happy, and as he often tells you, you are the light of his life. You make him the happiest he's ever been.
Remarkably, the two of you appear to have one of the most stable relationships of all the Targaryens, which comes as a shock to all. So when he suggests moving to one of his family's other homes, who are you to reject his offer? You enjoy having him to yourself, too.
