Fourth of July was right around the corner and Jennifer agreed to a last minute adventure to Utah with Rebecca and I. It was the perfect trip before it even began, because we all wanted to stretch every mile out of that three day weekend.
Leaving at midnight was worth breakfast on the salt flats. It may have been morning, but we’d been awake for 36 hours. We were running around the Bonneville Salt Flats as if we had done it a hundred times before. True to form and never too early, a shotgun was in order. Our very first shotgun together… the first of many for the GDWs.
We ended up spending the majority of our time at the Blue Lake. The water was unbelievably nice. Trying to forget the fact that it was an approximately 60 foot deep geothermal pool… 60 FEET… what is down there?! We had the whole place to ourselves pretty much, which was so surprising considering the perfect weather, warm pools and the holiday. Well, a few less dive-bombing dragonflies would have been nice, but they seemed to help keep the crowds away.
The three of us returned with plans and dates already set for the next one and the next and the next.
