Credence seeing fireflies for the first time, and thinking them to be some magical creature, and Graves just chuckles at his boy's new found wonder at the world around him.
Oh I like this. Credence I assume hasn’t been to the country side so he hasn’t gotten to experience the more ‘positive’ bugs in life such as fireflies and butterflies. He’s just used to roaches and ants and moths. So of course he looks at fireflies with a childlike wonder. It’s probably a bit frustrating for Percy since he wants to give Credence an explanation, but creatures, both fantastic and ordinary, are far from his field. The best he can do is hug Credence from behind and agree that, yes they are beautiful, and no, not everything beautiful has to be magic.
Just rewatched FBAWTFT and.... what if Graves(grindel) knew that Credence was the obscurus near the end, and pushed him on purpose so he would embrace the destruction? #JustAThought
BITCH !!!! I WAS JUST THINKING ABOUT THAT THE OTHER DAY
He’s a seer, he senses magic. Maybe he knew Credence was the Obscurus from the start, but decided to keep drawing him close to better hurt him later, because he KNEW that if Credence was hurt enough, after everything he’d already been through, he’d lash out and be uncontrollable. And he’d wreck enough destruction on the city to break the statute of secrecy irrevocably. Maybe Grindewlad just wanted that and didn’t give a shit about Credence.
But it doesn’t make sense, because if Grindelwald had known, it would have been more logical for him to take the boy away and care for him. Credence would be so happy to be saved, he’d do anything Graves asked.
No, from what we’ve seen, clearly Grindelwald was so focused on the fact that the Obscurus had to be a child that he didn’t see what was right in front of him. And when he finally understood, it was too late.
But it would have been nice for Grindelwald to be Machiavellian like what you suggest instead of just confused.

Noooooeeeees! Go hide in a fire safe place!!!!!!!!! :’(
haha, no i'll be fine. the fires are mainly coming from the blue mountains which is still a fair distance away. i'm just sitting here admiring the contrast. half the sky is pitch black, while the other is blue as blue can be.
