Ms. Angela Mao茅复静, aka Lady Kung Fu, the first female martial artist with her name above the title, respected by Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan & Sammo Hung, starred in more than 30 films before retiring as a mom & restaurant owner in Queens. Her characters were my first example of beauty, grace, bravery & badassery. Had a great experience last evening at the Metrograph Theater on Ludlow St. "Lady Kung Fu" Angela Mao Ying (who played Bruce Lee's sister in Enter the Dragon) took part in a rare interview just prior to a screening of her cult classic film Hapkido. She was nice enough to sign my original press photos from Lady Kung Fu. The first image also features Mrs. Mao Ying's real-life Hapkido instructor (and co-star) Grandmaster Ji Han Jae. An incredibly gracious and humble woman, who is dedicated to her family these days. But heads up to filmmakers out there. When asked whether Mrs. Mao Ying would consider taking on any acting roles today, her reply was not at all what you might think....
