Ha! Long time follower. GG/VM/Dawson’s Creek/Arrow/AoS fan. Wrote numerous GG FFs. 2 Arrow FFs. Current K-drama addict. Accidental scientist. Currently not reading since I’m participating in NaNoWriMo. :D

Congrats on the NaNoWriMo participation! That’s a whole lot of words! I admire those that participate beyond measure.

I’ve yet to fall into the K-drama vortex though I probably will at some point because *cough* Daniel Henney and his general handsomeness.

There's a Korean TV series called Reply 1997 that's currently being optioned as a show to be made here in the US. I suggest this series if you're willing to sit and watch subtitles. The show can be watched for free on Viki or DramaFever. It has 16 episodes and they're about an hour long per ep. There's more info about the show on Wikipedia. Plus side? The protagonist writes fanfic. :D

WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK WERE THEY THINKING IN KILLING TRIP ALREADY?!?!  Okay, pardon the profanity, but AUGH!  Enough with the fridging!!

In all seriousness, I get it.  It's a Whedon product, even if Joss is waaaay behind the wheel on this one, and dammit, he hasn't killed anyone we love in a whole season and a half, so his trigger finger has to be itchy.  Mind you, I never watched Buffy (I know, I know, but I promise, I'm still a reasonably good person) but from what I've seen, while Jossproducts have a love of killing off people there's always some direct dramatic reason.  When he killed Wash, for example, at the time he did it, it literally changed the entire dynamic of the film.  He'd already killed Book, but that was distant.  This was on the team.  You were on the edge of your seat wondering how the fight would come out as a result.  In Doctor Horrible, killing off Penny was a necessary evolution for Doc H to actually become the evil genius he thought he wanted to be.  But the explanation I've read on this is, 'Oh, Daisy needed to lose someone.'  Really?  And there wasn't any other way to make her evolve except to sacrifice someone?  Ugh.

But really, what was the value in killing Trip?  As a character, he brought some wonderful history roots to the show in the form of his connection to the Commandoes.  And yeah, I am a wee bit of a Cap fan, so I really, really loved that.  (And I've loved the old tech/new tech/low tech they've brought in - just thinking of the evolution of all that spy gear is awesome.)  Why not kill Hunter?  I don't dislike him, but sorry, not as critical as Trip's been.  I adore Mac, and I screamed protest when he fell into the city, but if I had to pick one or the other, I'd still pick Trip -- at least if we're fridging someone, we'd be forcing FitzSimmons to continue working on their communication with each other. And I get that they were slowly building an attraction between Trip and Skye, and I was really hoping for that, too.  Trip:  The anti-Ward.  (Okay, I've anti-'ed already this week, I know, but still.)  That would have been so awesome in so, so many ways.  Or, HEY, HOW ABOUT MAKING TRIP EVOLVE, TOO.  Or killing freaking Raina.  I would have loved nothing more than for that opportunistic...<insert word>  <insert other word>  <insert long and colorful string of profanity mixed with colorful metaphors> ...person....to find that her big, grand, glorious destiny that she threw everyone under the bus in order to get to turn out to be crumbling to ashes and dust.  See the irony, Joss?  Wouldn't that be a beautiful, gleesquealing thing of joy?  No?  Word. Failing that, I'm hoping she's hideous, hates what she became, can't manip people any more because of it, and suffers.  Not that I hold a grudge.

So anyway:  Let's raise a glass to Trip and your thoughts on it all?
