Let me be clear on something and I realise I'm going to sound harsh but whatever:
The Samuel Paty case has made me lose all respect I had left for the Anglo opinion on laïcité and secularism. Period. I don't have any respect left for your opinions on those issues at all. From Trudeau's cowardly words, the the Associated Press victim blaming hogwash, to simple Twitter rants from blue ticked twitterers.
A school teacher was literally beheaded in the street for doing little else but his jobs and all of that based on a web of lies about him from a student who wasn't even present, on top of it; And yet, all you can hear from Anglo-Americans is them trying to find every possible ways under the sun to blame France for it, and even worst to blame HIM for it.
At this point I don't think you (meaning your society, not talking about individuals here), get it at all. You don't get the importance of freedom from religion nor the importance of having a right to blaspheme. All you comprehend is freedom of religion and little else. If you did, you wouldn't be trying for this useless rethoric you've been spouting about a beheaded teacher and all the consequences that were spurned from this tragedy.
You wouldn't because the answer on whose responsibility it is and who the victim was would be damn obvious.
