Of Titans and Elder Dragons - private rp w/ lairofmxnsters
Ever since the re-awakening of the Titans that came with the rise and defeat of Ghidorah, there had been a surge of immensely unusual activity all across the globe.
This activity consisted of creatures, once thought to be purely fictional myth, emerging from whatever dark corners of the world they had been hiding in for the past countless centuries. They ranged in size, shape, and most notably sheer power; while the vast majority of them were nowhere nearly as big as the actual Titans, their strength and capabilities could sometimes rival them. The most notable thing they had in common, though, was that the vast majority of them were, for lack of a better descriptor, dragons.
Unicorn-like equines capable of sending bolts of thunder crashing down upon any that incurred their wrath; dragons with skin and wings covered in steel, with the ability to command the wind and summon tornadoes from seemingly out of nowhere. Colossal Titan-like beasts, with active volcanoes upon their back, weaving chains of small and usually short-lived islands in their wake.
Monarch had recently made a grand discovery, revealed only when some Titan had inadvertently ripped open a chasm in a brief territorial scuffle with another Titan. A massive crevasse, a valley really, once completely hidden underground - and at the deepest part was one of these grand and powerful Elder Dragons.
The creature in question was most certainly not a Titan-sized beast, but it was still of an impressive size; easily the length of a small parking lot from snout to tail-tip, it dwarfed most of the currently known Elder Dragons just as easily as it dwarfed the common man. It’s scales were a shade of deep red, the wing membrane and it’s underbelly being a light tan in hue. From the way it was curled around itself, and from how it’s eyes twitched and moved furiously beneath closed eyelids, it was apparent that this creature was in a state of deep sleep - for how long, it couldn’t be known. But regardless Monarch had set up an outpost here to observe this creature, and the secluded valley it had decided to slumber within.
No-one stationed there could possibly known that it would be awakening soon - for reasons that none of them would be able to fathom until it was far too late. After all, it was simply a manner of time.
