lark and rosethorn moving into the same room because even though they both have to get up at weird times during the night to pray, lark wants to be there when rosethorn wakes up with nightmares. evvy making rosethorn a nightlight like the siblings did for sandry because she knows that sometimes the dark is just too much and too full of the memories. lark clucking like a mother hen over all three of them for a week after they return and making them rest, and sitting up late into the night with any of the three who woke up with nightmares to the gongs. lark not letting rosethorn out of her sight for ages after rosethorn returns, because she just missed her so much and she came home with all these scars that lark doesn't know how to fix.

just imagine rosethorn coming home to lark and even though she's got PTSD and she's got two scared kids with her, she's still home and lark just running out of discipline the moment she realizes that it's rosethorn and briar outside and throwing her arms around rosethorn's neck and just. hugging her and giving her a kiss before wrapping briar in her arms as well and then turning to evvy and giving her a smile and a small hug and just.

also just. if briar had died, then the girls probably wouldn't have ever reunited in will of the empress because they knew the pain of losing one of their siblings and they wouldn't want to go through that again and they would all draw apart and rosethorn would see herself as a failure and lark would be stuck between her three foster daughters who would refuse to reunite because the thought of what might happen is just too painful, and rosethorn, who's so guilty that she's not the same person anymore.
