Lakna - Depuis que t'es plus là
This is one of my new favorite tracks of 2024! Listen to ’San Pe’ by African artist Lakna! Here is a small note from the artist.
Lakna's new single with Ghanaian singer Chayuta is an ode to summer and self-confidence. San Pe is an empowering track for women, who are taking back their power in their relationships and in their lives. The track, composed by producer Mix Master Garzy, recently nominated for an African Music Award, comes from a meeting in Accra. San Pe is a link between Europe and Ghana, but also a gentle ping pong between French and English.
Lakna - Moonwalk (Clip Officiel)
Saturday.
So today is going to be epic.
Driving down to Seenigama with Lakna and Shabnam, two work besties.
We're going with Mama and Nanna too!
On the agenda:
Watch the Seenigama Perahera - full of colour.
Frolic at the beach.
Gorge on yummy rotis at The Roti Kade in Hikkaduwa.
I can't wait. :)
Constant smiles today.
Today was like magic. It literally was the most perfect Monday I've ever had. To begin with, I received a really cute text from a friend I'd made recently. The text said '... Just wanted to say I hope you have a lovely day.' And then I went on a little grocery shopping excursion with a work bestie Lakna where we shopped for strawberry and mixed berry yoghurts, Milo and Marbles. Plus when we came back, we sat inside office and ate the stuff together. And I had plenty of laughs which really made me happy.
To top the perfect day off, I attended a green tea festival where I met this totally hot Australian chef who winked at me twice and his accent was really off the hook. I really loved today. It was so amazingly perfect. And I already have a feeling that no day in this week will beat today.

Eeeeee.
Today was such a happy day. I mean, really happy day.
Just simple stuff I do on a regular basis, today just felt special.
Weird, yes. Maybe I just live for the simplest things in this crazy kaleidoscope that's this life.
1. Lakna wearing her Batman t-shirt to office and then getting teased about it the whole day (including weirdos at the Free Trade Zone workers protest!)
2. Seeing Nabeela in the evening having a funny look on her face after the protest.
3. The sound of Shabnam's laughter. Enough said.
4. Mama's silly conversation in the car in the morning.
5. Constantly having A Thousand Splendid Suns in my hands.
6. Nisal telling me that I'm not meant to be a journalist and I'm supposed to be a writer, after seeing the above mentioned book in my hands the whole day.
7. Dreaming of cream buns from Green Cabin.
