Just reminiscing about this fanfiction that was amazing and had a huge following, but was never finished. It's good enough that I still check in to see if there are any updates either on the profile or comments to see if anybody knows what happened to the author. For a while now I've been assuming she passed because of how active they were and then absolutely nothing. But they did post in their profile that same year about dealing with anxiety about having a block and being afraid to post. I just hope that's the case. Even if they never finish the fic, I would love a proof of life message!

Lanaea, where ever you are, I hope you're ok and just know that Home is still on of my favorite Star Trek 2009 Jim/Spock stories ever! I still go back to it.

Anyone else remember this fic? Want to reminisce?

Just FYI Home isn't abandoned. On The Physicist (the_physicist) AO3, it's actually complete. 41 chapters of Spirk-y goodness.

What with Star Trek Into Darkness right around the corner, I just... wanted to express my wallowing sadness that Home, a fanfic by Lanaea, hasn't been updated since 2009.

I do understand that the artistic life is flighty. You start things, and you lose steam, and real life gets in the way. It's happened to me countless times. But I know I'm not the only one sad about the fic--I talk to my friends about it quite often. I just wish there was a way to reach out to the author, to let her know we're all still here. That her fic is just fucking fantastic, and we love it.
