Going back and forth about Lancer with @pennythemechpilot I was reminded of one of my favorite Lancer’s I ever played. It was a pure support Emperor from the Karrakin Trade Baronies book.
This was the pilot:
Her Callsign was Pengu, and her Lancer’s name was ‘Emperor Penguin’. All of her online pfp’s were penguins, and her nuclear hacking weapon created millions of animated penguins on the enemies’ screens, each with its own individual memory leak, and she owned a dozen penguin onesies, three of which had plug links for her mech.
My favorite story with her is about how she had to meet up with other members of our group for a party celebrating one of them being inducted into the space mafia, and just got done killing some hit men over her space cocaine addiction (don’t ask). So she hauls ass to this ritzy party palace in the outskirts of the planetary capitol, lands, falls out of her mech in this greasy, bloodstained penguin onesie. Mind you, this a RICH PEOPLE party, so my gm is like: “you go in wearing that?”
And I say, “No. Willa stands up, dusts herself off, then unzips her onesie and steps out in an immaculately three-piece suit.”
And gm is like, “You’re gonna have to justify that one to me.”
And I said.
“Well, she wears a penguin suit under her penguin suit.”
And he was laughing so hard that he let it go.
