I've been thinking about doing a Transformers project; the story would be a Slice of life in a world where the war between Autobots and Decepticons never started.
The thing is, I heard someone say that what defines Megatron as a character is that he's a sort of fascist dictator (which I understand because there are versions where his character is just the mr evil bad guy.)
Which made me think: would it be wrong if my version of Magatron wasn't like that? If in my story he doesn't want to rule the world, would I be adapting the character incorrectly?
I wouldn't want to remove an important part of any character, but at the same time, is the only thing we can do with Megatron is make him a villain?
