Hi! Maybe it's a dumb question, but is the Land of Nod canon? Like, for example, when it comes to event or is it like examples of how a character would react in certain situations? Thanks in advance :)
Hello! The programming, art and writing of the events are all done by tanaka strike, so (personally) character-wise I'd treat it as "canon" as the Sleepy of Life mangas or the drama CDs.
Maybe less so when it comes to events since there's dating sims, time loop shenanigans and meta self-awareness that they're inside a game (well tbf the drama CDs are SLS mangas do that too).
So my copy of "Through the Mirror, in the Day" came in recently (along with my signed copy of SLS reprint 2 LET'S GOOOO) and I want to gush about some of the little details about it!
Number one is that, rather than reading from right to left... It opens like a western book, and reads from left to right! Since it's a "mirror" I thought this was such a neat touch?
Number two is that the writing on the back? Is backwards, but with a little photo magic, we can mirror it and read what it says. In a similar vein, the white stripes are meant to look like the light reflections on a mirror as well! And, we can also see the mirrored Nod that appears during the event.
The inside contains explanations for all the puzzles and is basically a walkthrough for solving the little event, but there are some little doodles and even full color images of both Nod when it's Mikuni's birthday, and Nod as it normally appears with Mikuni and Tsurugi inside. The entire event and all the different dialogues you can get from clicking on items is written out inside to read at your leisure. It's very lovely! And, of course, it makes for a wonderful display piece thanks to Strike's beautiful artwork on the front~
We still don’t know what the spring we receive from completing the event is for… Maybe it’s a missing piece from whatever Jeje’s Item would be used on? Like a music box, or a wind up doll…
How very sad it would be if Mikuni gave Jeje something that belonged to a precious gift from his mother. I could see him do it, too, if only for one reason. Every time he sees it, he’ll remember. What happened that night, his own hatred, his anger, the fear that drove him… No matter how badly he might want it to be so, he is NOT Alice living in a dream. He will not wake up, snug and warm in one of the foyers, golden lamplight and the solid weight of his mother between himself and Misono while she calmly embroiders and sings softly to herself. This is his own reality, a waking nightmare wrought by his own hands, because the alternative would have been worse.
In my opinion, this event… is a manifestation of not only Mikuni’s own guilt and desires, but also Jeje. How much they both wish that the days are still long, that autumn is still far away, and that the warm, soft twilight of safety, caught between the deadly rays of the sun and the cool, reaching shadows of the estate, still creates a safe haven for playtime and excitement buzzing among the children who live there, echoing up to them through a cracked window along with the chirping of crickets.

The follow-up to the Valentine’s Day event is finally here. It’s a bit late, but Happy White Day!
3/23 revision: The game’s new update lets you play the Valentine’s Day event on the “replay” page.
Event Summary
Once you enter the site, you’ll be contacted by the first person you gave your chocolate to during the valentine’s day event. (e.g. If you gave your chocolates to Mikuni, you’ll get to see Mikuni’s event first before meeting Izuna)
After finishing the event with your first character, you’ll get a servamphoto (instagram parody) post of them, and after that you’ll be able to replay this event. (you can also change your name in the replay page on the bottom left corner)

On your second playthrough, you’ll meet Izuna who’ll give you sweets, and then she’ll ask to whom you gave your chocolates to.
You can choose to replay the same character, or choose different characters/events.
By the third playthrough you can choose between talking to Izuna or Freya. There’s no discernible difference other than what their initial dialogues say, so going with either will lead to the same conclusion.
No Chocolates Ending
If you didn’t give anyone chocolates on Valentine’s Day, you’ll spend the day with Kuro. (this will loop no matter how many times you try and access the site unless you've given someone chocolate).
You can also get this ending by saying “no” when Izuna asked did you give anyone chocolates. Note you can’t get this ending by talking to Freya.
If you already gave chocolates but by some chance deleted your history or refresh your cache, then there’s really no way for you to unlock the characters in the “who did you give your chocolate” options unless you play the valentine’s day event again.
Finish the default no chocolate ending with Kuro, and you can access the Valentine’s Day event by clicking on the 2/14 button down there.
It’s a bit late but Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! After four months of going missing, the Land of Nod is finally open again with a Valentine’s Day event where you can give chocolates to your favorite characters in Servamp. God bless Tanaka Strike.
This post acts as a guide for you to get all the routes of the characters. More under the cut.
Just a heads up, this event is only available until February 26th.
A quick summary for context.
Once you enter the shop Mikuni’ll greet you as usual.. and for those who did the Envy event, you’ll also tell him that you went into the mirror world. He’ll just think you must be super tired and dreamed all of that ‘cause everything has been pretty normal on his end.
You’ll then “get” a chocolate from Mikuni, and he’s wondering who you’re going to give that to. Also after 10 months of being a regular he finally asked for your name. He’ll then try and guess who you’re going to give your chocolate to, and based on your answers you’ll be given a chance to meet said character.
The list of available characters/routes are:
All of the servamps except Wrath (yes you can give one to World End. We can even ask about his eve on his route... What a tease.....).
Tsubaki and his subclasses.
All of the eves.
C3 members: Junichirou, Yumi, Tsurugi, Touma, Tooru, and Syuhei.
Other characters: Krantz, Guildenstern, Doudou, Johannes
(Notes: Gil, Ray, Izuna, Yully, Mary, and Wrath are written in the game’s script, however aren’t in the game. It’s possible for them to be added in an update at a later date? But for now that’s all the characters.)
General Notes:
You can give chocolates to all of the characters.
Once you’ve finished a route with a character, just enter the shop again and you can keep doing so until you get all of the characters.
If you accidentally land on the wrong character, once Mikuni guesses that character he usually asks “本当に、[character name]にチョコを渡すの?” (are you sure you want to give the chocolate to X?) you can still say no (いいえ) and try it again.
This guide is pretty long, sorry. There’s like 30 routes (at least, there should be.). If you want to get a specific character fast just press Ctrl+F “x’s route” (x being the character’s name e.g. Tetsu’s route, Mahiru’s route, etc.) on desktop :)
This post’ll be updated if new updates’ll be implemented in the future.
Guide!
The first question doesn’t matter ‘cause they’re just formalities. It’ll all lead to Mikuni guessing who you want to give your chocolate to. Here’s the first set of options you’ll get:
そうでもないです、人間が一番 (you’ll be giving the chocolate to a human)
魔法を使う組織の人とか、気になります… ( you’ll be giving the chocolate to someone in C3)
はい、人間じゃ全く満足できないですね ( you’ll be giving the chocolate to someone that isn’t human, so servamps / subclasses)
Human character routes
If you pick “ そうでもないです、人間が一番 “ Mikuni’ll be paranoid and ask if you’re going to give the chocolate to his brother.
……そうですけど……だめですか？(You’ll give the chocolate to Misono in his route. Go wish him a happy birthday or happy valentine! Note this is the only route that leads to Misono’s route.)
え？ 違います… (Someone else)
If you pick “ え？ 違います “ Mikuni’ll guess the age range.
16歳くらいまで (16~)
30歳過ぎくらいまでなら (<30)
35歳以上の大人な方が好き (I LOVE MY MEN ABOVE 35)
If you pick “ 16歳くらいまで “ Mahiru’ll take over the shop and he’ll try and guess who you’re going to give the chocolates to. (the characters available in this route are: Tetsu, Tooru, and Mahiru himself)
The options:
うん、友達のなかに (a friend of Mahiru’s. This immediately leads to Tetsu’s route.)
知り合いというか…家族かな (a family member of Mahiru’s. Picking this will immediately give you Tooru’s route. ‘cause he has no other family that are alive that he knows of. :( )
知り合いのなかにいる、と…いうか…その… (this leads to either Tetsu’s route or Mahiru’s route)
If you pick “ 知り合いのなかにいる、と…いうか…その… ”, then there’ll only be 1 more step to get either Tetsu or Mahiru’s route. Picking 彼の実家の旅館でいただく will land you to Tetsu’s route and 彼が手作りのお弁当を持ってきてくれる will land you on Mahiru’s route.
That’s it for Mahiru’s options! If you want to go back to Mikuni again and guess the 30 / 35 options, just re-enter the shop or answer “no” to all of Mahiru’s questions.
If you pick “30歳過ぎくらいまでなら“:
はい、楽器を弾ける人が好き (they play instruments. This leads to Licht’s route, Krantz’s route, or Mikuni’s route)
音楽にはあまり興味がない (not interested in music. This leads to Dodo or Johannes’ route)
If you choose “they play instruments”, Mikuni’ll also add that he plays the violin. Anyway the next options are:
大天使 (D A I T E N S H I. Immediately Licht’s route. Go and interrupt his piano rehearsal.)
どちらかというと悪魔っぽい…(he’s kinda like a demon.... Immediately Mikuni’s route. Go and have tea with him and see him be sad about not being able to be with his brother on his own birthday.)
If you choose “they’re not interested in music”. Mikuni’ll ask if that person likes women with big boobs.
はい（力強く）(Y E S gives you Doudou’s route.)
そもそも、そういう概念を持ってるのかなあ… (Gives you Johannes’ route.)
That’s it for the less than 30 years old options!
If you pick “35歳過ぎくらいまでなら“ Mahiru’ll take over again. The options are the same (Tetsu, Mahiru, and Tooru’s route.)
C3 character routes
If you picked “魔法を使う組織の人とか、気になります… “ Mikuni’ll ask “how do I think about this person?”
かなり気に入ってると思います (Mikuni quite like this person. Immediately Syuhei’s route.)
……たぶん、本当に、心底、大嫌いかと (Mikuni probably really, really, really, from the bottom of his heart, hate this person. Immediately Tsurugi’s route.)
どうだろう…よくわかりません (You don’t know how Mikuni feels about them. This leads to Junichirou, Yumi, Touma, or Tooru)
If you picked “ どうだろう…よくわかりません “ the next question’ll be:
バックでの駐車時にヘッドレストに手をかける姿 (Mikuni’ll ask if it’s Junichiro. Saying yes’ll land you to Junichiro’s route, and saying no’ll land you to Tooru’s route.)
クラシックな洋食店 (Classic western restaurant. Immediately Hugh’s route.)
カレー屋 (Curry place. Immediately World End’s route.)
If you choose “ 主人のことは、よく知らない “ (I don’t know about the eves), you’ll get two options about what kind of person they are. “ちょっとうるさい時もあるけど楽しい人です” (there’s time where he won’t shut up but he’s a fun person) and “おじいちゃんというか、孫というか” (some kind of grandpa, some kind of.. grandchild). These options don’t matter and will lead to the same options as the “まったく気にしないと思う“ options that leads to Lawless, Hugh, and World End’s route.
That’s it for the servamps routes. If you picked “人間などの他者に対する残虐さや冷酷さ “ before, Tsubaki will take over the shop while Mikuni’s away.
Melancholy routes:
Tsubaki’ll ask “if you go on a date, where’ll you go?”
遊園地 (to the amusement park. This’ll lead to either Tsubaki’s route or Belkia’s route.)
映画館 (to the cinema. This’ll lead to either Shamrock’s route or Higan’s route)
お家デート (stay-at-home date. This’ll lead to either Sakuya's route or Otogiri’s route.)
If you picked the amusement park, Tsubaki’ll say that he loves them too. Picking "品のある雅な人が好き" will give you Tsubaki’s route and "あまり興味ない" will give you Belkia’s route.
If you picked the movie theater, Tsubaki’ll ask, if you were to watch a movie, which one’ll you see together. Picking “武士の家計簿” will give you Shamrock’s route and “バートンフィンク” will give you Higan’s route.
If you picked “ お家デート“, Tsubaki’ll ask what you two’ll do together. Picking “音楽を聴いたり動画を見たりしてのんびりする” will lead you to Sakuya’s route and “そばを打つ” will lead you to Otogiri’s route.
That’s it for all of the characters! Have fun with the game and happy valentine’s day!
