FIC OUTLINE — Don't Let "Enough" Stop You From Having More

In the middle of 2023, Lando and Oscar start dating. In the middle of 2023, Lando and Carlos stop helping each other through their respective heats, and ruts. At the end of 2023, McLaren and Ferrari send their drivers home from Abu Dhabi on the same plane, even though Carlos is in pre-rut. Nothing happens. Unless one counts Oscar realizing that his boyfriend and his not-ex-because-they-never-defined-their-relationship-as-dating are both still a little bit in love with each other. Oscar goes about making something happen.

This is a fic I drafted up at the end of last year, and I have realized that I actually do not want to write this story anymore. But I did work very hard on it, and it is a complete story (thought it could probably use a round of edits), so I've decided to post it for your viewing pleasure. I think it would be a shame to let this fic languish in my drafts until the end of time.

Chapter 1 Carlos POV Carlos' Rut - Monday, Nov 27th–Wednesday, Nov 29th, 2023 After Abu Dhabi
Prologue type deal
The season is over
Carlos’ rut cycle is ten weeks long
Like all drivers, his ruts are skewed by suppressants to hit Monday to Wednesday
The Ferrari Jet is chartered to leave as soon as it can in the morning the day after the race
Carlos doesn’t know who organized the travel arrangements, but he needs to have a talk with them
He knew his rut was coming up, he informed the team
He’s sure that medical has it up on a calendar somewhere. Every ten weeks, like clockwork
Charles is on the plane with him. While Charles is an omega, he doesn’t really do it for Carlos—who is also very aware that there is some Max thing going on.
Carlos has spent many a plane trapped with a pre-heat Charles, and vise versa with a pre-rut Carlos.
Charles isn’t the problem.
In fact Charles is the wall saving him from losing his goddamn mind.
Because someone had the bright idea to invite the McLaren boys on this plane.
Lando is an omega. Lando is an omega that Carlos used to spend his ruts with, who he used to help through his heats.
Carlos has definitely told Ferrari that they don’t do that anymore
They don’t do that because Lando got with Oscar, like they are a thing, they are dating.
Lando still smells very good.
It’s driving Carlos crazy, and then there’s Oscar.
Carlos certainly has some feelings about Oscar, hates him, but he can’t deny that the Aussie smells good.
It doesn’t help that their scents mix together so well either
Charles is acting as a wall
Charles also smells like Max right now.
Max is pack alpha, which Carlos hates a little bit because he is in fact older, but right now he’s thankful for the calming the scent provides him
Because Lando is across the jet looking soft and inviting and sleepy and Carlos is losing his mind
Lando and Oscar are curled up together under a blanket
They leave the blanket behind on the plane
Carlos tries to leave it behind as well
His body won’t let him leave the plane without it
“If you do not take it, I will. And my scent will get on it.”
“There is nothing wrong with your scent,” Carlos tells Charles.
Charles takes a step towards it.
Carlos growls and snatches it up.
“I know you don’t mind my scent.”
Carlos shoves it in his bag. “Sorry.”
Charles drives Carlos home, and he manages to get the door closes before his rut fully hits

Chapter 2 Oscar POV Lando's Heat - Monday, Dec 25th–Wednesday, Dec 27th, 2023 Winter Break
It’s Lando’s heat
It hit on Christmas, which was a little annoying, but they spent the night before with Oscar’s family in Australia
And after the heat they are going back to England to hangout with Lando’s family and then back to Monaco for New Year’s
Lando is a mindless mess
He’s desperate, and he has been for a while
Him and Oscar are both subs, but Oscar can switch when he needs to
Oscar has a jelly knot for Lando to enjoy
Oscar feels empty, Lando’s pheromones affecting his sympathy heat coming on

While Lando is out, Oscar goes through his toy drawer and finds something to fill himself up.

“Was I a lot? M still fuzzy. I don’t remember much.”
“Stay fuzzy. Everything is okay. I’ve got you.”
“Oscar,” Lando whines. “Tell me what’s wrong.”
Oscar is petting Lando’s hair, and purring. “I think you need a real knot.”
Lando is like what does that mean
Oscar is like I don’t think the jelly knot was enough for you
“I don’t need an Alpha. You are enough for me.”
“I know I am enough for you. I am not feeling inadequate. I just think you want a real knot. You’ve been gagging for it since Abu Dhabi.”
“Did no one know Carlos was going to be in pre-rut? What kind of bullshit was that planning?”
“Yeah. That was something.”
“I don’t need a knot. Who would we even ask?”

“It’s your nest too.”

“I can hate Carlos for being an idiot on track and trust him to not actually kill anyone. I don’t like Carlos, but I know you do. I know he was your heat partner for years. I know he stepped back when you told him too. I know you two managed to stay friends, good friends. I know there’s a part of you that misses him, and not just a real Alpha cock. Carlos himself.”
“I—“
“Don’t lie to yourself for my feelings. I know you love me. You can love me and miss him at the same time.”
“Oscar.”
“He misses you too. Carlos being a little in love with my boyfriend probably doesn’t help my relationship with him, but he stepped back. I don’t even think Abu Dhabi was on purpose. Like Carlos didn’t know we’d be there either.”
“He wasn’t expecting us,” Lando mumbles. “He sat with Charles the whole flight and we didn’t even talk.”
“You got all worked up from his scent. We had great sex after that, you were so pliant for me.”
Lando whines and hides.
“Think about it?”
“Maybe.”
Chapter 3 Lando POV Oscar's Heat - Monday, Jan 8th–Wednesday, Jan 10th, 2024 Winter Break
Oscar’s heat
Oscar has never had a real knot before, so he doesn’t know what he’s missing
Lando can’t help but dirty talk about his experience with knots and how good they feel
Oscar likes ‘em big
Carlos is apparently very big
Lando fucks him with a toy
Double ended toy because Lando doesn’t like being empty

“How would it work?”
“I dunno.” Oscar is always sleepy post-heat. He pulls Lando into his arms. “We’d probably trade you back and forth. Give each other breaks, I dunno how I survive your heats. You go on for so long.”
“Would you two touch?”
“Probably not.”
“Why Carlos?”
“Because if anyone is gonna take care of my omega, it’s going to be Carlos Sainz whatever-the-rest-of-his-name-is Jr. And also, the twist and tug thing? He told me about it. It was probably one of the worst conversations of my life, but I did appreciate it. Didn’t say anything about how I was an Omega.”
“Why would he tell you that?”
“I choose not to think about it.”
Chapter 4 Oscar POV Lando's Heat & Carlos' Rut - Monday, Feb 5th–Wednesday, Feb 7th, 2024 Winter break
Lando’s heat is coming up and he’s twitchy
He can’t stop thinking about it, being passed between Carlos and Oscar
(maybe even Oscar being able to take Carlos, but that’s a pipe dream at this point)
He lets Oscar ask
He’s beside himself with tension
“I have my rut this week,” Carlos says on the phone. “I am in pre-rut, I cannot be making decisions like this one right now.”
Lando whines, and Carlos hears it.
He rumbles over the phone. “I want to. I would like to. But I cannot. Not this time. The next one, if you still want me. Six weeks from now, yes?”
“Yep. Have a good rut Carlos, we’ll call you back.”
“Have a good heat. Take care of him.”
Oscar represses the urge to scoff. “I always do.”
Oscar throws the phone on the bed. Oscar doesn’t like Carlos, but he respects the Spaniard as a person and Lando does really like him. He’s doubly sure he made the right choice, because the Alpha was offered an omega in heat and said no during his rut.
Oscar doesn’t fall into sub territory this week
He’s very dom and in control because Lando was all keyed up.
Lando never calls him Carlos, but he does whine for the Ferrari alpha
Oscar shushes him and comforts him as best he can
While Lando is out, Oscar gets Charles to drop off some things that smell like Carlos
Charles is like baffled and so confused when Oscar asks for Carlos items for Lando
Charles doesn’t want to give them up because Carlos is his friend and he’s still hung up on Lando and that’s super unfair
Oscar texts Carlos
Carlos texts Charles
Charles comes over
“Thanks, mate.”
It helps.
Oscar is too busy being stupidly fond to care that Lando’s instincts don’t see Oscar has enough.
He knows that he is.
Chapter 5 Oscar POV Oscar's Heat - Monday, March 4th–Wednesday, March 6th, 2024 Middle of the Bahrain and Saudi Arabia Double Header
It’s after the first race of the season in Bahrain when Charles finally gets a moment alone with Oscar for the what the fuck are you doing / shovel talk
“Carlos still likes Lando.”
“I know.” Oscar nods. “I didn’t mean to rub it in his face or anything. I was not trying to be mean. Did he think I was being mean?”
“No.”
“I meant it when I asked Carlos to help me with Lando’s heat.”
Charles signs.
“Is that a problem?”
“Only a little. Be careful. I don’t want you getting hurt.”
“I won’t. It was my idea.”
Charles makes a sound.
“I will be careful with them too.”
Charles is like “This is going to end badly you realize?”
“Lando is not going to leave me for Carlos. And I think between the three of us, if things go terribly wrong somebody is going to notice and put a stop to it.” Oscar quirks a grin. “Or you kill me.”
Charles laughs.

After the race, Oscar joins Lando at the after party
Oscar loses Lando at some point
Oscar’s pre-heat starts up
Carlos is there
Carlos grabs him and gets him into a corner
Carlos calls Lando
Lando doesn’t pick up
“I just need to get back to the hotel.”
Carlos gets Oscar a car. He tries to shut the door and Oscar is like “I don’t want to be alone.”
“You hate me.”
“I want you to fuck my boyfriend, because I’m not doing it well enough. Get in the car.”
Carlos gets in the car. They sit on opposite sides of the backseat
Carlos is on his phone trying to get to people.
Carlos gets Oscar up to his room and they wait for Lando to appear
And there he is, clambering through the door and climbing into Oscar’s lap
Lando has Carlos’ jacket that he left at the venue.
Carlos goes to leave.
“Alpha?”
“Yes, Oscar?”
“Thank you for helping me.”
“You don’t need to thank me, cabron. I would never leave an omega somewhere like that.”
“I know.” He starts scratching Lando’s hair. “Can I keep that jacket?”
Carlos inhales sharply. “Yeah. I'm going to leave now.”
“Okay.”
“Okay.”
“We’re both gonna miss media on Wednesday. See you at free practice.”
The door closes
“You should have invited him to stay.”
Oscar shakes his head. “He’s for you. I don’t need a real knot. I’ve never had one you know? Don’t know what I’m missing.”
Lando whimpers.
“It’s okay.” Oscar pets him. “I’m okay with that. Let’s make me a nest, yeah?”
The Carlos jacket gets prime of place right near Oscar’s pillow. Buried under things to obscure it of course
His heat is still a few days away, so they just cuddle
Chapter 6 Oscar POV Lando's Heat - Monday, March 18th–Wednesday, March 20th, 2024 Just Before Australia
They are in Australia a week early because might as well hangout with the Piastri family
They call Carlos after the plane lands. Because Lando wasn’t sure again.
Oscar assures him that he really means it
Carlos is in Australia early for sponsor purposes
He’s clear for Mon, Tues, Wed because Charles said that Oscar told him he was serious about wanting him to help Lando.
When Carlos comes into Oscar’s home Oscar gets possessive.
Lando’s pre-heat is very much in effect and he latches onto the alpha immediately
This is Oscar's house. In Oscar’s country.
He knows he has nothing to be worried about
And he doesn’t. Because even if Carlos is very much dominant, he refers to Oscar every time.
Oscar watches and then when Carlos gets tired Oscar will fuck Lando all pretty
Carlos also does the food and stuff.
Oscar gets hungry and tries to leave once. But Lando whines which makes Carlos growl at him. And Oscar isn’t scared of Carlos but he stays pinned.
Carlos gets Lando off quickly and tells Oscar to get his jelly knot
They transfer Lando and he whines when Carlos leaves but Carlos assures him he’ll be back and he puts on some pants, which is a shame until the Spaniard leaves and suddenly Oscar is distracted with distracted Lando.
Lando is purring happily when Carlos comes back
He has food
A plate for himself that he eats at Oscar’s desk. And a bowl that Oscar and Lando to share. Oscar feeds his boyfriend.
“You should fuck Oscar.”
Oscar is a little wide eyed.
“I don’t think that’s a good idea, carino.”
“Why?”
“Because that’s not something we discussed earlier.” Carlos wraps himself around Lando.
“We can talk about it now.”
Carlos chuckles. “When we would both do anything to make you happy? No.”
“But it would make me happy.”
Oscar laughs.
Carlos fucks Lando while Lando sucks Oscar off.
When Lando’s heat breaks, Carlos leaves.
“Thank you.”
Oscar forgets to return the jacket.
Chapter 7 Carlos POV Carlos' Rut - Monday, April 15th–Wednesday, April 17th, 2024 Just Before China
Carlos spends his rut alone
Carlos spends all of his ruts alone
China is a long way from Madrid, so he’s holed up in a hotel room in the week leading up to the Grand Prix
He thinks about Lando
Of course he thinks about Lando
He’s always picturing Lando
Remembering how perfect he was. How pretty. How good.
He’d somehow tricked himself into forgetting was Lando was like last year, when they stopped sharing heats and ruts because the Brit got with the Aussie
And now that he has him again it’s about a million times worse.

Chapter 8 Carlos POV Lando's Heat & Oscar's Heat - Monday, April 29th–Wednesday, May 1st, 2024 Just Before Miami
“Will you need me before Miami?” Carlos texts.
“I think I don’t mind? It’s a double.”
“A double?”
“Yeah. Also my heat.”
“Oh. What’s your cycle?”
“Every eight weeks. Lan and I line up every couple of heats.” “Like I said. I think I won’t mind. I’m gonna be out of it. More like Lan is all the time.” “I have toys and stuff so I’ll be fine if you just focus on Lando. I’m still going to want a turn though. Take care of my omega and all that.”
“So am I coming?”
“Lando will want you there. I won’t mind. I’ve spent enough time with your scent. But if you’re comfortable you don’t have to come.”
“I’m not going to try to touch you because you are a nearby omega in heat.”
“Wasn’t a concern. I trust you, you know. Letting you into my nest to fuck my omega.”
“If you decide you do mind, I will leave.”
“So I should order enough groceries for three?”
“Yes.”

After Canada, Lando and Oscar fall into their shared hotel room
“Can you text Carlos, while I make up the nest?”
Oscar text’s Carlos while Lando makes up the nest for his heat

This is going to be Carlos’ third Lando heat in their nest, and they haven’t really talked about anything
It’s been six weeks since Lando’s last heat
Four races have passed and things have been pretty normal between everybody
Oscar remembers bits and pieces of his last heat, the shared heat.
He remembers how he was very quick to deny needing Carlos’ knot so that he wouldn’t have to face rejection
Oscar doesn’t even like Carlos most of the time, so that was weird.
It was nice being able to let go during their double. Usually he has a whole Rube Goldberg machine set up to trick himself into making sure they get fed during the three day stint
Oscar didn’t even set it up because he knew Carlos would be coming

Chapter 10 Lando POV Oscar's Heat & Carlos' Rut - Monday, June 24th–Wednesday, June 26th, 2024 Between Spain and Austria During the Triple Header
It’s Oscar’s heat so they don’t bring Carlos in.
It’s the worst heat Oscar has had since he started taking partners.
That jacket spends a lot of time around Oscar’s shoulders
Lando tops him with the jelly knot, biting his neck
He has to fight to remain present because Oscar feels really good
It’s harder to lose himself because Oscar is in such pain.

Wednesday night, after the heat is over, Lando and Oscar climb into the Ferrari jet
They are sharing a flight from Spain to Austria, because Carlos also just had his rut
Carlos looks pretty terrible
Lando doesn’t know who needs cuddles more
He sticks with Oscar, so that they can have post-heat cuddles and sleep
Carlos isn’t his.
What is Carlos to them?
Carlos sits with Charles at the other end of the plane, but his post-rut scent fills the cabin.
Oscar seems to be the most relaxed he’s been all week.

It’s like he doesn’t know what to do with himself
He keeps thinking back to his rut
It wasn’t just him thinking about Lando with hints of Oscar
It was fully Oscar is also here, there, under him, on top of him

Even if Oscar’s mouth was so close to him last time
Oscar stays on the other edge of the nest whenever Carlos is inside
But whenever Carlos comes back, Oscar has made himself comfortable in the space Carlos has just vacated.

When the omegas sleep, Lando will curl Carlos’ side, and Oscar will wrap around Lando from behind, but instead of tucking Lando back into his body, Oscar is clinging onto Carlos.
Chapter 12 Lando POV Oscar's Heat - Monday, August 19th–Wednesday, August 21st, 2024 Just Before Netherlands
The last thing Oscar tells Lando before the heat takes over is that he should call Carlos
He doesn’t think he wants the Alpha’s knot, but Carlos has to be here this time
The only thing he can think of that was wrong the time before, was that Carlos wasn’t there

When Carlos arrives in their apartment, Oscar is gone to the heat.
Carlos stands just outside the nest
He’s watching
Then Oscar grabs him and he’s falling into the nest
Oscar doesn’t need the alpha to fuck him, he has his toys, he’s happy with his toy
But he wants alpha to be pleased with him
The only way he can think to do that is to give him Lando
Lando is worried about Oscar and what that means for them, but Oscar is telling him that it’s okay
This is what he wants
Carlos is helpless to help
Oscar asks if Lando wants Carlos to fuck him.
“Yeah, but I don’t want you to give me to him. I’m yours.”
“Mine.” Oscar bites him. “I want to be good for alpha,” he confesses. “Invited him here, and won’t let him fuck me.”
Carlos looks at Lando wide eyed and Lando nods at him.
Carlos swallows. “You are very good for me.”
Oscar whines and tries to coax Lando into presenting.
Lando goes easily.
Something happens and Lando is being spit roasted.
It’s a lot of Carlos watching the omegas fuck, and every once in a while Oscar check that Carlos is still there, and then five minutes later he’ll beg for him to fuck his boyfriend.
Lando thinks he is losing his mind honestly
He wonders what his heats are like.
He feels fuzzy.
Chapter 13 Oscar POV Lando's Heat & Carlos' Rut - Monday, Sep 2nd–Wednesday, Sep 4th, 2024 After Monza
Lando disappears the second press duties at Monza are finished
Which is only fair because it’s his heat week and the pre-heat has hit him hard
Oscar makes wraps everything up with the team
He’s trying to find Carlos, they haven’t texted but it is Lando’s heat.
He smells the alpha before he sees him
Carlos is doubled over behind the Ferrari motorhome
“Carlos? Wow, you smell really strong.”
In a flash Carlos has Oscar pinned to the back wall of the motorhome.
“Ow.”
Carlos immediately pulls back slightly, and he starts the rumble. “Sorry. Sorry. It wasn’t supposed to be until dinner. I had time.”
“Pre-rut?”
Carlos noses Oscar’s shoulder. “Sorry.”
“Who do I call? Who has been helping you through your ruts?”
“No one. I have been doing them alone.”
Oscar whines, louder than he was prepared for. He’s immediately embarrassed, but he used to do his heats alone. He’d never go back to that after having Lando.
“Since you and Lando stopped?”
Carlos hums. “I meant to find a partner, but it was too soon. And then you asked me to help Lando, and I wasn’t going to spend my rut elsewhere when I was with him.” Carlos takes a deep breath and pulls back a little. “And you.”
Oscar dry swallows.
“Do you want to come back to ours? Lando is in heat.”
Carlos growls. “Don’t say that to me.”
“If you are coming with me, you should be aware of that.”
“I am going back to my hotel. You can take care of Lando without me, no?”
Oscar makes a sound. “I can, but do you want to be alone?”
Carlos dry laughs. “No. Of course not.”
“Then come with me. I can text Lando now, he’s lucid enough to consent.”
“Can you please find Charles.”
Oscar growls. It doesn’t matter that Charles and Max have a thing. He does not want to get another omega.
“Or Max?”
Does Carlos know what set Oscar off?
