"So I think you'll really like this restaurant, and while the food's good the people who work there are great, like they're just hilarious." Landrie said as she lead Kaity down the street, Lumiose city was quite the site to behold and while getting to walk around with someone and point things out was great and all, they were hungry as butts.
"Really, right now I could go for just about anything," Kaity followed behind trying to take in as much of the sights as she could while heading to get some food. The city was huge but her stomach was keeping her mind to the food aspect of things.
"Okay just over here readysetGO" she said quickly before sprinting ahead and laughing at the surprised look that she was greeted with.
"Wha- wait not fair," Kaity whined and started to give chase to her friend. Following she nearly ran into her as they came to an abrupt stop. With a puzzled look stared at the place before them. "So this is it yeah?"
"Yup yup yup! C'mon I made a reservation while you were in the potty earlier!" Landrie replied as they walked in, "Landrie table for two please," she polity told the booth man.
"Eh now, that tea was just too good to put down," she rubbed the back of her head and followed behind to their table. Taking a seat she started looking around again trying to get a good idea on where she was. "So how'd ya find this place anyways?"
Mischievously looking over with an excited undertone in here eyes she replied, "I was bullshiting around the city a week or two ago and I just sorta FOUND it ya'know. Oh also guess what, here it come, the zinger, wait for it, almost, YOU GET TO BATTLE!! Between every course you get to battle, I can't because I've already been here and beaten them, but YOU can!! It's great training and if you win you can make back nearly half of what you paid and get food!"
The word battle stuck out in her mind and she just gave Landrie a blank stare. "You are one of those people who just want to watch people suffer aren't you," she said continuing her stare at Landrie's gleeful face.
"C'mon you know you'll love it!" she quipped back making a scrunched nose face at her.
Rolling her head back a bit she acted as though she was dying before snapping back to attention as one of the waiter came closer to them and gave the best smile she could. "I hope so."
"Pfft- don't be a butt, here comes our waiter, do you know what you want?" she asked holding her hand above Kaity's menu to grab it in the event she said yes.
Looking over it carefully she spots a few things that look good. Humming a bit she decided what she is going to have, "Yeah I think I'm all se- whoa!" She freaks a bit when the menu is pulled away suddenly and sits there for a moment with wide eyes.
"I would like the french onion soup and a house muffin please. Well, tell him what you want Kaity don't just sit there!!"
Shifting eyes a bit she nearly forgot what it was she wanted. "I'll have the french onion soup as well and the Azure Bay Slowpoke tail." She then smiled to the waiter as he took their orders, and when he left she gave Landrie a questioning look. "Really."
"Really what?" she said looking away exaggeratedly.
"Dear Arceus help the poor souls you'll ever face if you become champ or a gym leader," she said poking a bit of fun at her.
"Nah I don't wanna be a gym leader, or champion Arceus forbid, I don't do desk work at all and iI just, no thank you. I wanna just, forever be a traveling trainer, get ALL of the badges, take on all the gym leader at their full strength and all that jazz. That would be the life Kaity, that, would, be, the LIFE." she replied leaning back in her chair as if imagining it in her head.
Nodding she closed her eyes for a moment and smiled, "Yeah that would be pretty nice. Still it would be nice to be champ ya know, prove yourself as one of the elite."
"Hahaha, still gonna beat 'em just not gonna stay, say, how bout you become champ so after I beat 'em you beat 'em and you stay and take all the credit while bail tail outta there? Sounds like a good plan right?"
Laughing she gave a thumbs up, "Alright sounds a little out there but sounds like a plan none the less. Plus if I take all the fame I can use that against my mum."
"Hahahaha, yeah man, I'm so glad I met you ya know? You're just so inspirational and amazing I can't even comprehend it all," she said smiling honestly and sweetly, projecting a sort of human sunshine onto the other girl.
"Thanks, your pretty awesome yourself, I mean look at you in the same time it took me to get four badges you already have what six. Plus if it weren't for you smacking some sense in me I might still be sleeping on couches," she replied happily glad to have made some awesome friend so far.
"Haha, yeah Calem keeps trying to battle me and he just gets so angry when he loses, like he's so cool and all that. I am waiting for the day where he blows up in my face, like, because it seriously bothers him that he can't beat me in a battle." She looked down at the table laughing a bit until she caught sign of Kaity's bracelet, "So you got the other one then yea? When I was there awhile back they said they had two and were real nice about giving me this one, that gym leader though, shes somethin' isn't she?" she held up her own wrist when she mentioned her's to show a sleep stone set into a dark metal gauntlet.
"Haha Calem gives you the same problem too, well can't really say problem." She then got distracted by the mega ring and leaned in a bit looking closer at it. "Whoa, I didn't know there were two, but yeah the leader was definitely something else. I didn't want to leave her gym though, it was too much fun skatin' around."
"Hahaha, yeah, what happened when you got yours, I got some angry spiel from Calem about how he deserved one and me cheating or something because he fought you valiantly or some shit." Her hand came up over her mouth to cover it a bit as she laughed.
Cocking her head a bit she couldn't see Calem acting like that, "no he was really cool about it. Congratulated me and told me that he was going to work hard to make sure that he'd be able to keep up with me even without the mega ring."
"Huh, I don't think he likes me much then because he was not happy. Maybe it was the fact that there was a second one and he didn't know that and that brought out the worst. Bluh, I'll call him later or some shit then, get everything sorted out."She made an over exaggerated gesture of sticking out her tongue and rolling her eyes, before quickly perking up, "Food's here"
Kaity groaned to herself and quickly shook a fist at Landrie before getting ready for the battle she was going to have to win before getting a chance to eat. It became even worse as she could smell the soup that was now taunting her.
"Go Kaity WHOO YOU CAN DO IT BBY GRL!" Landrie cheered using napkins as pom-poms.
Throwing a quick side glare she sent out her Pokemon and tried to get the battle over as soon as she could. Happy that she seemed to pick the best type match for the battle it was over within two turns if everything went according to plan. "Alright alright lets get this over with, I'm starved" With Todd using flamethrower he put a good dent in the opponent, and even with him being hit a wing attack he shot, and Rico using his aura sphere to k.o. the other Pokemon. Todd then finished it up with using psychic putting the other one down.Recalling her Pokemon she was happy to finally have that done with and thanked the waiter before turning back to her food softly glowering at Landries smug smile.
"See, told you it would be fun," she said taking a sip of her soup, "I really love this soup ya'know, my dad used to make it for me all the time as a kid. I've never once met anyone who can make it better than he can but don't tell she chefs," she ended with a wink.
Shaking her head she couldn't help but laugh a bit, "man you are evil." She then took a sip of the soup herself and smiled softly. "I'd have to taste your dads to compare but this is really good."
"Hey, who knows maybe someday you'll get to meet my dad, go on a trip to Snowpoint with me and spend a week at my old house. It's the best place ever. We have this two story log cabin away from town, and when you fill the living room up with blankets and cuddle up with your Pokemon it's the most amazing feeling right here." she says placing the tips of her fingers on her chest and smiling warmly.
Smiling, it was cute to see her friend being sentimental over home, but she knew the feeling oh too well. "If I do that you'll have to stop by New Bark one of these days. Nothing beat waking up in the morning and being able to walk out back and look right up at the sun rising over Mount Silver, plus getting to run off and spend all day with the baby Eevees is one of the best things ever."
"Haha I bet, but what about waking up to look out your window at the peaceful stillness before heading downstairs for a cup of cocoa and flapjacks." she countered.
"Oh that's good." She paused and placed the spoon up to her mouth and thought for a moment, "how about not having a Fletching dive bomb you awake and some tea with fresh water right from the waterfall and home grown herbs. Plus did I mention baby Eevees."
"Hahaha, two words, Temple. Exploring."
"Alright you got me, New Bark ain't much itself, but man the trip up to Mount Silver makes it worth it."
"I will come, visit that is. It does sound truly wonderful." She ate the bread bread that was in her soup carefully, savoring it and the last of the cheese that had started out on top.
"Yeah, Temple exploring sounds like a blast too," Kaity resumed eating her soup, happy to finally get something to eat.
"So have you been mostly just ambling around then? Or do you know where you want to go exactly like marker on the map and everything?"
"Just been making my way from town to town, where ever there a badge I'll be. I really want to make it to the championships. First though I really need to put a stop to these team flare guys, they're really pissin me off, and find out what Lysandre knows about my mum," she finished the rest of her soup. "What about yourself miss wandering trainer?"
