A Place To Wander

This ProcJam project by Luke O’Connor is a nice little terrain generator that makes landscapes you can wander around in, like the title says.

While the movement speed is a little fast to give it a sense of space, it’s at about the right speed for the interaction density. Not to mention that the entire thing was created for the jam, which is a lot of work on its own.

Hermit

An interactive procedurally generated landscape by Lingdong Huang.

A hermit walks through a landscape of fractal trees and generated hills.

I like this kind of thing: it demonstrates a number of different techniques for generative art and nicely ties them together.

Running it requires Python. (I just used Anaconda and pip for a relatively easy setup, but I’ve dealt with this kind of thing before.)
