When I first heard Daughter live

It was breathtaking. I swear. When she opened her mouth and sang Youth, it really hit home. When the whole crowd sang the prechorus, I just got the feeling that: everyone is in this together. When we proclaimed the words "And if you're still bleeding, you are the lucky ones." you realise that, hey, I'm not alone in this. Everyone here understands. We're all in this together. Whatever it is, we're not the only ones who feel this. Everyone else here feels it too. The quiet, bashful lead singer had a small, shy smile as she felt the whole crowd's hearts in sync with her. As the song went by she seemed to gain more courage, ending off with the resounding lyrics: "And if you're in love, you are the lucky ones. Cause most of us are bitter over someone." Now whenever I hear this song I feel immediately calm, thinking back to the honest, quiet singer whispering the loudest lyrics ever; and the bold, encouraging crowd who opened their hearts to the music.
