Drops Cantonese Essentials

When it comes to taking notes and learning Cantonese, there really isn't any super interactive applications. One I have found and really enjoyed though is Drops! It's really fun and visual based. I've only done the essentials vocabulary so far but it's really great! 

Although there is a difference between the written forms and the spoken forms. I’ll put the written form first and then the spoken like so: Written/Spoken. I have the vocabulary from the Essentials down below:

Special Note: The word for "Hi” is unclear in a way. While Drops tries to teach you that “Hi” is written as “嗨” and the jyutping for it is “haai1″, I was actually unable to type that out on my keyboard. It didn’t work for neither my phone nor my computer. Also, you can say “Hello” like this “nei5 hou2″ and “你好”。

Currently 咖啡 ☕️ is one of my favorite words… probably because I have a raging coffee addiction… but also… I kind of really like how the strokes are laid out, that word makes my brain happy to look at.

This is Loki, (第四小猫）one of the study buddies… adorable, yes… motivated… not so much.

I also found a new favorite idiom today (which, to be fair, I haven’t delved too deeply into idioms yet) but:

爱屋及乌 / ai wu- ji wu

(Lit.) Love the house and it’s crows

Or rather love for a person extends even to the crows that perch upon the roof of his/her house.

e.g. - to love absolutely everything there is about a person

I think that is a really beautiful sentiment 🥰

I had "card games" topic in my German course on Language Drops and this is the image they used to convey the phrase "Ich kann nicht mischen" - "I can't shuffle".

And they're right - he is Struggling with that deck.

Any one else have this weird Drops glitch which plays advertisements over one another?

Because I do and on top of that I got my streak reward a second time after doing the second round?? I mean I'm not complaining but whut
