When you speak like 20 languages so you start failing at ur mother tongue
I speak three different languages, and they all get jumbled in my head sometimes. Like once in high school, I had to translate something from Spanish to English, and I wrote it in Norwegian instead. Or I’ll say “og” for “and” while speaking Spanish. Or I’ll be speaking to friends who only speak English and a little bit of Spanish, but I’ll start talking in Norwegian. It’s a weird experience, but I’ve kind of gotten used to it.
Social Anxiety Nightmare
So last week in school I was rushing from my french class and bumped into some stranger in the hallway (because I’m a very clumsy person). I instantly shouted an apology as a reflex.
Except that I said sorry in French, not English (probably cause I just spent the past hour speaking it)
She stared at me in complete and utter confusion, so I mumbled sorry awkwardly in the correct language and then ran away in terror...
