Creating a Language Awareness Task

Hello everyone, in this post I will talk about creating a language awareness task, but Arda, what is a language awareness task??? I am glad you asked! A language awareness task presents students with specific data and students try to deduce the grammatical rule or classify vocabulary by using the given data from a corpus, which falls under the name of “data-driven learning”. In the material we created, we made students inspect data given in the form of handouts and we also designed an activity that lets them find the grammatical rule without learning it beforehand which is an example of inductive learning. After they find and understand the rules, we gave them a fill-in-the-blank activity concerning for and since usage.

Healthy Relationship Education🙏🏻❤️🌎 Two workshops, 270 teenagers and young adults gathered to watch a short play on domestic abuse in the house hold, followed by workshops on relating and responding skills. Many don’t even know they’re suffering domestic abuse or coercive control at home or school, this is where awareness needs to be. Abuse has become so familiar in today’s society, its become normalised and it’s NOT normal. It took me a long time to make the distinction between ‘friend’ and ‘acquaintance’. It’s a vital one to make now:) Talking about the definition & our own personal interpretation and meaning of words is fascinating. The boys were particularly receptive, showing keen interest to be engaged in creating further awareness for bringing about change: AWESOME!!!
