Ring - “Be not afraid.”
It’s been a while. Sort of doing inktober at my own pace to get back into drawing something other than sketches.
I’m really enjoying the Bristol board, platinum carbon black, pilot desk pen combo.

New D&D game, new character portrait in progress.
He’s a half orc fighter with a very large sword and a very fancy moustache.
Trying to figure out what my pathfinder character looks like, and how this watercolour brush works.
He’s The Oleander, an actor formerly with The Night Bouquet of The Brandtburg Opera House. He’s partially undead, calls everyone darling, and he works very very hard to look that effortlessly stylish.
Designing a fancy tattoo for my fancy pathfinder bard. I might come back to this and put some colour on it, because I kind of want it on a t-shirt.
Fighter/Barbarian + 14 Charisma = Flowing Romance Novel Hair.
This is Victorious Skullblood, my half orc wizard for a game I’m in, where he’s part of the advanced studies class of a dungeon delving arcane research academy. The class is made entirely of awkward oddballs, and the entire student body is gunning for them. It’s great. :D
Victorious is the first person in his family to go to university. He likes efficient but thorough study notes and meticulously coordinated outfits, has absolutely no concept of social nuance, and specialises in arcane couture.
Turns out pixel art is really fun, who knew. I tried out a couple of different pixel art programs on my ipad the other day, and if I could somehow mush them all together, I’d have a single program that actually does everything I want it to.
I might need to rethink my lighting approach, having tiles get transparent when they’re dimly lit might not work so well for larger objects with more overlap.
A floundering kickstarter I've been keeping an eye on has me thinking about making games, and making them effectively with limited time and money. I picked up a copy of game maker with a humble bundle a while ago, so I decided to spend a few hours exploring that train of thought with some prototyping. Programmer art aside, I've got an isometric tile grid, the start of a custom level editor, and a slightly janky looking light system. I might keep tinkering with this one.
