Sweet Songbirds || Lillie & Lanna

[ ☀ ] — “Those were some pretty unique vocal warm ups, huh?” Lillie says as she opens up the box of chocolate cake she’d brought along with her, shaking her head as she recalls the strange noises from the video they had been watching earlier. It was a type of vocal exercise Lanna had wanted to check out, but Lillie found it more embarrassing than anything. Thank the Goddess no one actually saw -- or heard -- them watching that.

For now, they were having a cake break at Lanna’s place before starting on their singing practice. After cutting herself and Lanna a couple of slices of cake, she seats herself at her friend’s dining room table, smiling as she looks around the blonde’s spacious kitchen. 

The small kitchen in her own cramped apartment absolutely paled in comparison, and Lillie couldn’t help but feel a little envious. It must be nice, having such a large home. Maybe she would look into getting one of her own, once she had the money...

Unfortunately, that was a long ways away. Breaking off a piece of cake with her fork, she brings it to her mouth and hums at the rich chocolate flavor, smiling as she looks to Lanna. “We’re not gonna actually try those, are we? They sound... well, weird.”

You’re Gonna Go Far || Max & Lanna

[♫] — Max was in a bit of a predicament.

He loved his flourishing business empire, and had no qualms about owning as many as he did. But he was only one man, and it wasn’t as if he could manage each one with the level of attention and detail that were required of them. Especially with a business located on Arcadia, when he himself was centered in Leuda. That was why, at least for the Adonea Theatre, he needed a business partner of sorts. Someone to keep an eye on things when he couldn’t, and keep everything running in order.

But when it came to his workers, he wasn’t quite sure who to consider for promotion. The ones who were most diligent and qualified -- Margaret and Lillie -- were busy with several other affairs. Elise and Leon did their jobs well, but their leadership skills left much to be desired... for differing reasons. 

And then there was Lanna. Probably the last person he would consider for the position of managing the theatre. She certainly didn’t have experience in a leadership or management position, and her temperament definitely wasn’t made for it. It would be the smart choice to just keep her where she is, as a simple performer.

But when he thinks about it, really... thinks about it, something occurs to him.

Though she had the personality and charisma for it, her skills as a singer (the term being used very loosely) were... lackluster at best. But if he put her in management, away from the stage and hidden away in offices, paperwork and meetings instead, then she wouldn’t have to perform. That happens, and the complaints and drops in business would stop, as well... 

How nice a thought.

“Oh, Lanna, do you have a minute?” He calls to the girl who just so conveniently happened to be walking past him in that moment, no doubt on her lunch break now. “I have something I’d like to discuss with you.”

After cheer practice, Frey took a moment to rest for a bit before heading out. Maybe grab a snack before returning to the dorms. She was redoing her twin tails  and hummed along to her usual playlist when it suddenly plays. A song she absolutely MUST sing AND dance along to. 

Immediately, she increases the volume of the track playing from her phone, the sounds of Heather Chandler’s short sassy speech loud and clear for those around Frey to hear. Her short speech ends and that was the cue to stand up, swing her hips and dance along to the wicked tune of Candy Store.

“I like looking hot, buying things they cannot♬” Frey sang along, releasing her inner Heather.

To Be A Mentor II Lisette & Lanna

If there was one thing Lisette loved to do, it was sewing. Today she decided to work on a new blouse in the sunshine rather than stay cooped up in her dorm after classes. She took her materials, found a nearby bench, and quickly became absorbed in her work.

“One more stitch here...and then the second sleeve...” She mumbled to herself, sewing together the lime green and ocean blue cloth as the sun glinted off of it. 

It wasn’t until she saw a pair of shoes approaching out of the corner of her eye that she blushed from embarrassment of talking to herself, and started to work even faster.

Dia stopped by Charde Jewelers with the goal of purchasing a necklace that would suit her outfit for the upcoming ball. To her surprise, it wasn’t precious gems and jewelries that she finds but...

Lanna Elliot.

Even now as an adult, Dia couldn’t help but hold close the few things that made her happy and emotional. She was no top-performing musician, but she adored and appreciated music. Growing up, Lanna Elliot and her performances were memorable for the young Dia. She was barely older than Dia herself, and yet she achieved so much! 

Because of her family’s status, meeting her by chance in social gatherings were likely, and they have indeed met. However that was a few years ago and Dia didn’t exactly have the most memorable of personalities...

Still, Dia walks a little too quickly and approaches the pop star-- or former, pop star? Her status was still unsure if it was a permanent hiatus or not. 

“Excuse me.” Calm, composed, straight-faced. Keep at it, Dia. “I--” She hasn’t exactly browsed yet, too starstruck to even look at the selection. “--require some assistance with--” Don’t say stuff. Don’t say stuff. “--things?” Ay dios mio.
