⚔ - Jake waits at the front desk as the librarian processes his returned books, foot idly tapping against the ground as he waits for her to finish. He had been planning on checking out a few more today, if they had anything new in stock. 

Reading wasn’t exactly the half-elf’s favorite thing to do (not because he was dumb, but because he got restless quickly), but if it meant being a better father to Orland, he was more than happy to do it. Well. Maybe not happy... but it was a necessary sacrifice, one he was willing to make.

Once the librarian lets him know everything is in order, Jake nods, turning to head into the library proper when---

“Whoa. ‘Scuse me.” He takes a step back before running into the taller man that had been approaching the desk, a vague sense of familiarity striking the half-elf when his eyes land on the man’s face. Did he know this guy from somewhere?

Hey. The name’s Jake. You might know me as the Leudan guildmaster, owner of the arena, and a blacksmith here on the island. If you ever need to contact me, check out any of those places.

But, getting to the point… I have a few things I’m wanting to get off my hands, and since I don’t really need the money from selling them, I decided to give ‘em away.

Under the Bridge || Fairy Tale AU

⚔ - Jake had seen and heard all the warnings. Did he care about them? Not particularly. As far as he was concerned, they were just butterflies... how much harm could they really cause?

But he decided to stay home that day, just as a precaution, and to give his wife some peace of mind. Unfortunately, that plan goes to hell when he hears a noise at the door and opens it, only to realize no one was actually there. Whether it was some prank, or something he misheard, Jake had now put himself in the line of fire.

As such, it doesn’t take long for one of those butterflies to touch him, the contact causing him to fall into a deep slumber.

...When he next awakes, he’s sitting in a dark and damp space, with the sound of running water very close by. He blinks slowly, scanning his surroundings to realize that he was... under a bridge. Which... was totally normal, of course. He did this everyday. Must have nodded off while waiting for someone to screw with.

His pointed ears perk up at the sound of footsteps coming from above, and the half-elf smirks. Speaking of... 

Before the traveler could move any further, Jake crawls out from under the bridge and blocks their path. Judging from the annoyed look on their face, they knew exactly what was coming.

♪ I’m the grumpy old elf, who lives under the briiiidge... I’m the grumpy old elf, who lives under the briiiidge... If ya wanna come over, all ya have’ta do is thiiiis... All ya have’ta do is thiiiis... ♪

He concludes his song, smirking. “Solve my riddle.”

♥ - It all happened in a flash. Felicity had been walking along the streets of Arcadia, high off of a delicious meal from one of the local restaurants when a strange man suddenly accosted her, demanding she hand over her purse.

But before she could do or say anything, another woman arrives and fights the man off. The waitress was still frozen in shock by the time the other girl turns to her, and it isn’t until Felicity hears that string of reassuring words does she snap back to reality.

     “Y-yes, of course… and thank you for helping me! How about I treat you out, as a show of my gratitude~? ♪ ” Sure, she might have already eaten, but there was nothing wrong with enjoying one last helping, was there? ♡

Run the World || Sherry & Electra

🦋 - Through her work at the City Hall, and assisting her father with his own duties over the years, Sherry had grown very familiar with politicians on both Arcadia and Leuda. Now that she was the mayor of Arcadia, it was her duty to maintain steady and beneficial working relationships with them, to help in the betterment of her island.

One such individual --- and probably the most important, in the grand scheme of things --- was Leuda’s mayor, an heir of one of the most illustrious families in the world: Electra De Sainte-Coquille. 

Sherry had only become properly acquainted with the woman recently, but she quickly found that Electra was quite enjoyable to talk to. When they weren’t speaking politics, they were bonding over common interests, and idly chatting over tea. She was much more down-to-earth than her social standing would suggest, and in her, Sherry not only saw the potential of a great working partner, but a good friend, as well.

As Mayors of their respective islands, they would meet up from time to time and discuss a variety of topics. This time, they would be having their meeting in Sherry’s home, so she made sure to prepare some tea and snacks for the occasion. Once Electra arrives and Sherry greets her at the door, she leads her to the den.

        “Please, make yourself at home. I made tea and cookies! Sandwiches, too. Feel free to have as many as you’d like.”
