░ 🌳 ░ Finally, Kurt saved the bouquet for last. It was in better condition than the others so it might have been sent recently. The only person he thought would send these was Gwen, but he was with her the whole time. She already flat out told him he won’t be bothering sending him flowers and cooked him a good meal instead.
He checked the card immediately after observing how elegant the flower choices and arrangement were. A person comes to mind as to who it could be from, and he confirms it once he reads through the card. Like she always does, he flustered up as he read her message. What did she mean by it? Was this a sign that he could get his hopes up?
Regardless, he immediately started preparing an appropriate return-gift for her. He was late, but he’d rather be late than ignore her gift.
After a couple of hours, he was done and ready to have it delivered to Clove Villa. It was an arrangement of wooden flowers he handcrafted himself, all placed in a ceramic bottle with her name on it. And with it was a note — a letter at this point. Words he’d find difficult to say in person but easier through writing. Even if he erased a few lines, at least he was brave enough to send the message anyway.
Strange is one word for it.
Is it strange if I’ve felt like that for the longest time?
You’re always on my mind.
I thought long and hard about what to send you this festival. The language of flowers is interesting, it’s poetic all on its own. Yet, I can’t seem to find the right ones to tell you how I feel about you.
In the end I settled for an arrangement of my own creation — flowers of different shapes and sizes, flowers that will never wilt.
Like them, may you always bloom no matter what you face in life.
I’ll be right there with you if it gets too tough.
Like them, may we last the test of time and stay as we are.
I cherish your company the most.
With love Sincerely Regards With love,
— Kurt O.
When Dia received a delivery from a Kurt Oakwood, she assumed it was related to her orders from the Cherry Blossom Festival. He hasn’t dropped by to give her the ruby ring yet, but to her surprise, it was a different item.
Handcrafted wooden flowers of different variants, all beautiful and well made. It was a thought and sweet gift. Too sweet, even for Kurt.
She took the delivery to her study and read the note that came with it. The more she read, the more she grew nervous. Once again, he was being too sweet. And for every line that she read, her heart pounded louder than it ever did.
Kurt needed to be more careful with his words. He was being sweet. But if this sweetness meant something more then sheer kindness for a friend... she wouldn’t know what to do with them.
Dia folded the note and hid it in one of her books. And as for the wooden flowers? She placed them at her study desk and stared at them far longer than she intended. Confused thoughts started entering her mind, and the more she stared at the flowers, the more they grew.
