“Peri! Lapis!”

Peridot fell out of the truck bed as Lapis flew down

“AMETHYST! What brings you to our lovely barn?”

“Oh...well...this is kind of a weird request. Can I borrow Pumpkin for the night?”

“Sure!”

“Uh...Peridot. I think pet owners are supposed to ask why when people want to borrow their pet.”

“Right right. Why do you need Pumpkin?”

“Uh...you know. She looks like a jack o’ lantern. And I just want her to sit out front and people will think she’s just decoration, and then she’ll be alive and it’ll be the best Halloween prank ever.”

Peridot and Lapis blinked at her “Halloween?”

“OH YEAH! Oh this is even better! Come on. You two will be my assistants. I gotta teach y’all about Halloween.”

First Poly Date

So this is my late day 1 entry for @lapamedotweek, sorry its hella late and probably hella rushed. Anyway enjoy~

Peri looked over her living taking deep breaths. She hadn't bothered to clean or straighten up, it hadn't been that messy or at least not as messy compared to her girlfriends…. Actually it was the thought of her girlfriends being here at the same time that was causing her to panic. This would be the first time they'd be meeting each other. She knew Lapis could be a bit cold and snarky towards strangers, they'd been dating for years, but her new girlfriend Amethyst… she wasn't sure, but something about her gave Peri the vibe of impulsive hotheadedness.

A knock on the bar house door drew her from her thoughts. Taking one last breath she walked over and cracked open one of the doors.  She peered out into darkness but saw nothing. Opening the door a little wider resulted in a face suddenly appearing with a Boo.

Peridot little out a little scream and moved quickly away from the door as laughter and a person came in. “Amethyst!”

A chubby girl with a creamy light purple mane of hair grinned.  “Did I scare you?”

Peri's face grew red as she stammered. “N-no, I knew it was you the whole time.”

“Right-” Amethyst closed the door behind her and made her way to the couch, but not before kissing Peri on the cheek. “So where's this other girlfriend of yours?”

Peri trailed behind her checking her phone. “She just texted me saying she'd be late, so wanna start the movie?”

Peridot stroked Amethyst's hair as the two of them waited for the credits to end and the post credits to begin.

“I don't know why the Sight didn't just beat the Requiters into submission?”

“Because then he would've been a bad guy like is brother Noltron.”

“Yeah but think about how much time would've been saved. He could've beaten them and forced them to work together, because well he is supe-” Peri was interrupted by a knock on doors. “Its her.” She jumped up forgetting Amethyst was in her lap causing the other to fall onto the floor.

“A little warning next time….” Amethyst grumbled as she righted herself. Realizing what was said Amethyst quickly adjusted her hair and tried to play it cool as she sat on the couch. “that's cool… tell her to get in her.”

Peri nodded before throwing open the doors. “Welcome Lapis.”

Amethyst jumped up at the name and her mouth dropped when she saw an all too familiar face enter the room. It was her roommate Lapis… “ Fuck it's you…”

The new woman who had blue hair looked up from her kiss with Peri and rolled her eyes. “Yep it's me.” Her attention returned to Peridot and with it a warm smile, “Sorry I was late babe, I was…”

Peridot shook her head, she only had eyes for Lapis. “Its okay, I get it. You're here now. Let's go to the couch.”

Amethyst sat on the edge of the couch trying to focus on the next movie and not the couple cuddle against each other. It had been like this since Lapis had gotten there two b-side movies ago… she felt rejected and alone. Standing up she headed towards the doors, “I'm gonna go have a smoke….”

One Big Bed

Day 3 (Tuesday, October 30th)-One Big Bed

“You bought a barn?”

Peridot, who had her hands outstretched to show off her new home, was slowly lowering them as her smile dropped slightly. “Well y-yeah. Don’t you like it?”

Amethyst wrapped an arm around Lapis’s shoulder and pulled her down to her height “Of course we like Peri!”

Lapis sighed “I’m not saying I don’t like it. I’m just worried if it’s up to code. Don’t want you to get crushed by a falling wall.”

“It’s fine Lazuli. It’s definitely up to code. Let me show you two around!” Peridot grabbed their arms and pulled them inside.

“It’s...one big room.”

“Technically yes. But you see those ladders? They take you to a ledge.” Peridot started climbing up. “Come on!”

Amethyst was about to follow but was stopped by Lapis grabbing her arm “What?”

“There’s no railing.”

“I know isn’t it exciting.”

“For us...maybe. But her...She falls all the time. She is going to die here.”

“...right. Hey uh...Peri. Maybe we should get something to block off the ledge here?”

Peridot, at the top, looked down at the two of them, almost giving them a heart attack. “What do you mean?”

Lapis practically flew up the steps and Amethyst positioned herself underneath Peridot so she could catch her “You know...for the aesthetic.”

“Huh. Didn’t think about that? Part of the reason I wanted to show you two this place. I knew you would have good ideas.”

Lapis grabbed onto Peridot’s waist and pulled her into a tight hug. “Well you know us. The epitome of fashion.”

Peridot smiled and nuzzled against Lapis as Amethyst made her way upstairs.

“Anyway!” Peridot broke free of Lapis’s grasp, and was immediately pulled away from the ledge by Amethyst. “This is my bedroom. I don’t have a lot yet. Just a dresser, tv, and…”

“A new bed”

Peridot nodded enthusiastically

“Why? Your old bed didn’t have the springs poking out yet.”

“Well...um...I was kinda thinking. When you two...are comfortable...we could...all live...here.”

Lapis smiled slightly “Wait...you bought us a house?”

Peridot nodded “I know we haven’t been dating for all that long...but...we’ve been friends for...forever...and...you know…”

Amethyst grinned “Yeah Per. I mean somebody’s gotta make sure you don’t die.”

“What?”

“Nothing. So can we watch Tv?”

“Yes! Of course.”

“Cool. You’re in the middle.”

“Why?”

“Reasons.”

First Poly Date

Day 1 (Sunday, October 28th)-First Poly Date

(Lapis is nervous. Not so Much for the date, but for the meeting new people

Lapis was lying on her bed. She glanced at her phone and groaned. She really should start getting ready, but there was a churning in her stomach that wouldn’t go away. She knew she should be excited for tonight, but...

Tonight was the night Peridot was going to introduce her to her other girlfriend.

And even though she would immediately say she was joking whenever she said “Maybe you two will fall in love, and we can all date each other”, there was something in her eyes that told Lapis that was most likely her end goal.

She didn’t hate this other girl. And she wasn’t jealous of her either. She just hates...new people. It took her a long time to open up to Peridot, and she wasn’t really excited to start the process of slowly getting to know someone else. Slowly letting her guard down. Slowly revealing her tragic backstory. Getting the same pity looks she always got. The feeling that everybody around her is walking on glass. Sure sometimes it can be cathartic to cry in someone’s lap and have them tell you everything was going to be ok. But then the next morning, when you’re trying to act like nothing happened, they look at you...differently. Not necessarily bad differently. But differently nonetheless.

She heard her phone vibrate and saw a message from Peri.

‘Hey!’

‘I got here early’

‘To be in front of the line’

‘But SOMEHOW somebody else got here before me’

Lapis started laughing out of relief. She really should have looked up this girl earlier. They were in the same dorky art class in High School. Oh God! This girl knew all of her angsty teenage poetry. This girl already saw the absolute worst of Lapis already.

Maybe tonight wasn’t gonna be...awful.

Camp Pining Hearts Halloween Special

Day 2 (Monday, October 29th)-Camp Pining Hearts Halloween Special

(Amethyst is always annoyed by Camp Pining Hearts, but it’s always two against one

“Hey! What’s up Ghosts and Ghouls? Are y’all ready for the best Halloween ev-” A familiar spookified theme song stopped Amethyst dead in her tracks. “No. No no no no no. We watch that every year.

“Well yeah. We also wear costumes and make jack o’ lanterns every year. It’s called tradition.”

Amethyst groaned “But those things are fun and cool. This is-blech.”

“It is not! It’s a daring mystery that keeps you at the edge of your seat until the final sce-”

“None of it’s real and it’s Tanya and Elliot playing a prank on the camp.”

“SPOILERS!”

“Oh my God Peridot, you have seen this upwards of a bajillion times. And besides, during my first watch, and while hardly paying attention, I guessed it within 10 minutes.”

Peridot huffed “Lapis likes it.”

“Lapis has bad taste.”

“Don’t be rude!”

Lapis came into the living room from the kitchen “Nah, she’s right.”

“Well still, two against one.”

Amethyst groaned and flopped on the couch, lying across Peri “It’s always two against one.”

“That’s because you’re the only one, for whatever reason, who doesn’t understand the perfection of Camp Pining Hearts.”

“Perfection? There’s a boom mic right there.”

“It shows charm.”

“No. It shows that the crew wanted to get off set as soon as possible that they didn’t care to do a retake.”

Lapis crawled on top of Amethyst “Come on. It’s only 44 minutes. If you just wait it out, you can plan the rest of the night.”

Amethyst thought for a moment “There is a party I wanted to go to.”

“What? That’s not fair! Parties take way longer than 44 minutes.”

“There’s a costume contest.”

“...fine. But we’re not staying out all night.”

“Lapis said I could plan it.”

Lapis pinched Amethyst “You gotta be nice about it though. We’re not overwhelming Peridot again.”

“Ok ok fine.”

Lapis smiled and laid down on Amethyst “Now shush. The vampire scene is about to happen.”

Camp pining hearts Halloween Special

Day 2 CPHHS was the prompt for @lapamedotweek. It's real short. Like really short.

Amethyst sighed loudly as she lay across the laps of Lapis and Peridot who were sitting on the couch in living room of Peri's darkened barn house. They ignored her; their eyes were glued to the opening scenes of the CPH-THWCSS or for the non initiated, like Amethyst, Camp Pining Hearts - The Halloween Camp Spook-out Special.

“Can we just skip to the end where they reveal it was the rivals from Camp Jaded Heart?” She grumbled as she crossed her arms, using the motion to deliberately block Lapis’ view.

She was rewarded with a scowl and a quick kiss. “Stop Babe.”

“Yeah Ames, this is one of the best parts.” Peridot said reaching over to pat Amethyst's head.

Amethyst snapped at her girlfriends catching a few digits between her teeth. She wasn't about to let Peridot touch her head. Her scalp was still sore from the fresh braids she'd let Garnet put in and laying on Lapis’ lap was painful enough.

“Ouch!” Peridot hissed pulling her hand back. “She bit me!”

“No I didn't, she put her fingers in there.”

“She's lying Lapis, I was just-”

Lapis sighed and pushed both her girlfriends off as she got up off the couch and climbed up to Peridot's loft/bedroom. “I'm watching it up here now. Alone.” With a glare she faded into the shadows.

“Why must you ruin this movie every Halloween?” Peridot snapped grabbing her Alien plushie and sitting on the the opposite of the couch to watch the remainder of the movie.

Amethyst fiddled with her phone logging into the wifi router app. “Trick or treat.” She laughed to herself  as the tv screen displayed the message internet connection lost.
