This month's cat is the LaPerm!

LaPerms are named after their curly coats, which are the result of a naturally occurring mutation in their genes. The breed can trace its origins back to a single cat named Curly who was born as part of a litter of farm cats in the 1980s. The owners, Linda and Richard Koehl, allowed Curly to interbreed with other cats for ten years until a small colony emerged and with it, a new breed of domestic cat!

Keeping a LaPerm cat happy and healthy is not as difficult as you might think. Here are a few tips to help:

Provide plenty of toys for your cat to play with. This will keep them occupied and help them to keep their minds active.

Feed them a healthy diet. LaPerm cats require a bit more protein than regular cats, so make sure to feed them a diet that includes plenty of protein.
