In Starsky and Hutch, they reference cowboy movies/tv shows, i.e. A Coffin for Starsky.
"You know, if this was a cowboys movie. I'll give you my boots."
Recently, I was watching Laramie (because I love western shows), a late 1950s to early 1960s cowboys tv show. I noticed that in a scene from Laramie, Badge of Glory, it kinda looked similar to a scene from Starsky's and Hutch, The Trap.
Putting these two pictures side by side like this, the similarities are so obvious. They are both coming out of a barn after being cornered by whoever trapped them there. Both came out kicking down the door and then went straight to guns a blazing.
The only difference in this scene is that in Laramie, they are hiding separately from each other to protect themselves from opposing gunfire. While Starsky and Hutch are hiding together. But they are both crouching down to protect themselves from opposing gunfire.
I just love seeing tv shows reference different genres. Honestly, Starsky and Hutch does give cowboy 🤠😉
