I love old westerns and cop shows, especially ones from the 80s. I also really enjoy writing, on the rare occasions I can get my inspiration to stay locked down for long enough to get anything done. Wishing you a blessed day, and reminding you that you're very, very special!

Hanson: Oh, I think her bare hands are gonna be enough.
Ezra: It was at this juncture that Mr. Wilmington uttered a vocalization commonly associated with only young female members of the human race.
JD: What's that mean?
Josiah: He screamed like a little girl.
Caretaker who holds onto delirious/drugged/panicking/etc. Whumpee as they thrash and fight, determined not to let them bolt or hurt themselves.
They refuse to let go, even as they get slammed into walls and furniture, even as a stray punch or kick lands, even as glass shatters and cuts into their skin.
And at last Whumpee is finally, finally calm—maybe the fever broke, or the drugs are finally leaving their system, or they just simply wore themselves out.
It's then, and only then, that Caretaker finally takes a step back to deal with their own injuries.
Whumpee was injured in the latest fight, but they're on a Very Important mission—far too important for the Team to get distracted by anything else.
So Whumpee hides it for as long as they possibly can. They manage quite well, actually, considering the Team is all traveling together and there isn't exactly a lot of room for alone time. The rough bandages aren't great, but they're enough. Whumpee just has to hold out until the mission is over, and then they can take care of it properly.
But then Teammate(s) find out. Maybe they come upon Whumpee in the midst of trying to care for the wound themselves. Maybe it's revealed by accident—Whumpee moves wrong, bumps into something or someone, etc. Maybe someone spots the bloodstains Whumpee's been trying so hard to hide. However it comes about, Teammate(s) can now see the full extent of the injury, and it's bad.
And Whumpee has finally reached their limits. The pain, the exhaustion, the blood loss—it's all just too much.
"Don't...don't tell Leader," they gasp out; and then blackness takes over.
I love The Young Riders, but the other day I accidentally stumbled across a Wikipedia article and found out that they based Jimmy's in-show backstory on Cody's real-life childhood experiences instead of giving it to Cody like they should have, because God forbid the comic relief character have any sort of trauma
I love the shock factor of Whumpee just collapsing out of the blue and scaring Caretaker/etc. half to death, but there is something to be said for the Caretaker who saw it coming from a mile off and just scoops up Whumpee without missing a beat the moment Whumpee's knees start to buckle
